Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 02 10:01 am)
Not reading a hundred old threads on the subject?
The installer looks for Poser.exe. You have PoserPro.exe.
Copy any file at all - anything - to Poser.exe in the same folder.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
... or use "DAZ Studio" as application in the installer. According to DAZ, everything will be extracted, even the files just used for Poser, and it does not look for a Poser.exe anymore.

OK guys and gals I need some help. I just installed Poser Pro 2012 onto a new laptop with 2 hard drives. I installed the main program onto drive (E) Poser Directory (E:Program FilesPoser Pro 2012) Now when I went to install my DAZ characters I kept getting a message that told me that the V4.2 base must be installed to the same directory as the applicatio executable due to restrictions on support file locations. Please select the directory that contains your Poser executable. I uninstalled Poser and tried installed it in the (C) drive because I figured that it was being picky and I am getting the same message. What am I doing wrong?
