Subject: Needing Solid Blue Terry Cloth Robe-Victoria/Stephanie/Aiko 4

MarkR151 ( ) posted Thu, 20 October 2011 at 4:53 PM · edited Tue, 23 July 2024 at 6:13 AM

As the title says, I've been looking for a simple, solid blue(medium to dark shade preferred) terry cloth bathrobe for the current gen Victorias, Stephanies & Aikos.

I've seen red & violet color robes at Rendo & Daz with some kind of flowering  design on the fold or lapel, but they're not what I'm looking for.

I just need a simple solid blue(maybe royal blue) terry cloth textured robe. Can anyone help?

Find any robe and retexture. There were a couple in freestuff here or at sharecg but they were dynamic cloth.

How do you retexture? Sorry, I'm new at this.

Everybody started sometime, you will pick it up.

In Poser if you switch to the material room and the advanced tab you will see a set of parameters for that material .

You can select the material by clicking on the small preview image , or using the pulldown list near the top.

Diffuse in the PoserSurface node (should be far left of the screen) lets you change the color if there is no image map. So if you have a white robe, changing diffuse colr to blue will give you a blue robe.

Its often better to make a new texture image by ussing the product template or uv map.

There should be a section in the manual on the material room. Ask in the Poser forum for help.

changing an items materials is done all the time in Poser. You can have one dress and make it look like lots of different dresses with textures and transparency maps.

You may find some tutorials as well on renderosity.

If you still need something and have a base robe that you can share a link to, I'd be more than happy to create some textures for you in varing shades of blue.

Hi Mary Ann,

Thanks for the offer. I haven't had time to get to work on that robe yet as markschrum instructed above. I'm still trying to learn my way around DS & Poser and hope to try my hand at creating textures as he described. But work & other stuff has kept me busy the last several days.

But here is the robe from DS I was originally going to tweak and will soon hopefully:

I looked there & here @ Rendo for a simple solid blue terry cloth robe and that is as close as I've found. A medium to dark blue(but not navy) for the entire robe is what I've been wanting to find.  Changing both the white & black to the same solid blue is what I'm hoping for.

Btw, on that linked page for Sweet Secrets... you have to pull the slider all the way to the right to see the "Very comfy terry cloth robe."

Hi Mark

I've got Boudoir Whispers which is the base outfit for this set.  I will see what I can do and get a link to you once I get them done
