Subject: "sweaty skin" for Victoria 4?

Ain3D ( ) posted Tue, 01 November 2011 at 10:20 PM · edited Mon, 27 January 2025 at 4:26 PM

I'm looking for a skin texture for Victoria 4 that basically looks "sweaty", as if she's been working out for the past hour or so. How might I achieve this? Is there a shader that might work? Or a texture overlay? Or even a full character texture, maybe using the V4 bodysuit.

Posting this in the DAZ section too, just in case. Thanks in advance!

Cliff

Thanks, unfortunately none of those solutions will work in DAZ. I know a lot of shaders will work in both DAZ and Poser, which is why I posted it here.

I don't use Daz Studio, but in Poser the quick and dirty method iin the Material Room is to make the Highlight a lighter shade than black, say 50% gray or even white (or some color if you want the gleam to have a hue). Then set the highlight amount to something quite small, say 2-3%, so you have a narrow gleam reflecting the light instead of a broad, diffuse highlight. There is also at least one shader for sale that simulates water droplets on th skin rather than just a moist sheen.

I apologize in advance if DS doesn't have this capability, or something equivalent to it. I'm not familiar with the program. You did ask the question in a Poser forum, so that's my solution.

Did a quick trick in DAZ that I thought would help you :) (Not the best shader ever, but it will do the trick)...

Will post screen shot and "sweat" specular map in next post's.
