Subject: What Grab Bag Item did you Get?

Acadia ( ) posted Mon, 31 October 2011 at 5:34 PM · edited Tue, 24 December 2024 at 8:58 PM

I just got my grab bag for Halloween. I'm thrilled with the random item:

What did you get?

I got the Traffic Lights; good for making road scenes I suppose. Not that I ever will.

Hmm.. interesting point, the VH_Noir for V4.2 is a Prime item, I wonder if the full price or the Prime price is used to calculate the "average" 10$ price tag :)

Nope. Biscuits got this one:

Sorry but I'm not buying anything on the hopes that I'll get 1 random yet completely unknown item for free. Maybe if they had a list showing me what items were in the bag before hand I'd be tempted.

Acadia ( ) posted Mon, 31 October 2011 at 6:04 PM

I figured that I had a $5.00 item in my wishlist anyway, so why not buy it and get a freebie? Even if it is random, it's free.  And it turns out that there are some pretty nice things, given what Biscuits and I received.

If you want to miss out on a freebie because you don't know in advance what it is, I guess that's entirely up to you. :)

So far, really excellent quality products!

When they didn't give a list of what you could get, I got scared off.  Plus I don't like halloween to begin with and figured it'd be something holiday related.

Zip.  Nada.  Nowt.  Not a sausage.  Bugger all.

Since you had to buy stuff and money's tighter than a big bag of very tight things in a tight place, I bought nowt.

I'm not complaining though; it was good of 'em to make the offer.

I have two whole items that are only $5 on my wishlist and they'll still be $5 when I actually have the money to spend on them without blowing my budget. I'm sorry but gone are the days I'll impulse buy Poser content on the hopes of saving on some freebie I may but most likely won't want. Without seeing at least a list of whats in this grab bag to see if there's something I might want? Sorry. If it's something I don't want it's just free crap, and face it if it's crap to me, why would I want it free or otherwise?

I already had two Prime items in my cart, so I went for it, and got Inked Vol. 7 for V4...

http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/inked-vol-7/80713

Not soemthing I'm likely to use much, but worth at least what I paid for it, which is more than I can say for many items that I have purchased...

How do I find out what I got?

anupaum ( ) posted Tue, 01 November 2011 at 2:08 PM

I bought three things that were on my wishlist, and got three grab bag items that are utterly useless to me.  This is not a reflection on the vendors in any way, it's just that these items don't "fit" into the type of rendering I do:

Oh well . . .

Wasn't able to get anything as the Grab Bag item was disabled when I tried.

It would be better if we know the exact grab bag items before checkout.  As the items are free, why not we get the items we want, instead of useless items?

(This is similar to some vender's promotion, buy 1 get 1 free. That free item is the item you want, not a random one. This brings more satisfaction to customers.)

Geez guys! Come on! It's like going out halloweening for candy.  You don't yell from the street and ask what the people at a house are handing out before you decide to go out halloweening!

No, instead you go out and either buy a costume or buy the stuff to make the costume, and you go out and go door to door collecting your candy, like grateful people who are happy to get something FREE for all of your efforts!

I can't believe how petty people are being about the fact that you didn't know which of the 39 items you were going to be getting.  You should be ashamed of yourselves!!

I'm sorry, but I get fed up with people being so ungrateful about things.

I spent $10.00 and I got 2 products totally $23.00 absolutely FREE!!! I think that was a pretty good deal, and I enjoyed the element of surprise that came with "unwrapping" the item.

Yes, you got some nice stuff.  I'm happy for you.  What I received simply isn't useful, so whether or not it's free is a moot point.  It's not about ingratitude.  It's about marketing.  I bought three items that were on my wishlist.  I would have bought them anyway, but next time a promotion like this comes up, I'll be far more likely to wait for a discount coupon than to take advantage of a grab bag offer.
