Subject: Poser 2011 Installation

Taylor-Made ( ) posted Mon, 07 November 2011 at 10:39 AM · edited Wed, 20 November 2024 at 10:31 AM

I'm just getting around to installing Poser 2011 due to a large job I started and had to finish on Poser 7.  What would you recommend as the best way to install the new version while I keep my old Poser 7 on my computer?  Can I use the library from Poser 7 with no problems?

Poser 7 is currently installed on my C drive along with my Runtime libraries in Program Files.

Thanks for the help.

If you are using Vista/W7 and have UAC turned on (default), do not install in program files or you will have a variety of problems.

If your runtile is in program files, you will probably experience some problems also, but you should be able to add the Poser 7 runtime to what everversion you have (there is a 2010 and a  2012 but no 2011).

We'v got a problem.There is no Poser 2011 :-(

OK, install PP2012 in its default location C: programm files, and the runtimes in the shared folder.

Poser7 and PP2012 can happilly live together and YES you can connect your current P7 Runtime directly into PP2012. (Or your PP2012 runtime into P7.)

Poser 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, P8 and PPro2010, P9 and PP2012, P10 and PP2014 Game Dev

Sorry, Poser 2012.  Too many late night sessions last week.

Sorry to be so dense, but what shared folder?  I'm a film editor, not a computer guy.    Thanks for the help!

Run the installer. Do not change any suggestions it makes. Then you will do what they said.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
