Ooh. I'd never thought to try that feature. Thank you.

Cage had some freebies, compatible with Poser 11 and below. His Python scripts were saved at archive.org, along with the rest of the Morphography site, where they were hosted.
Quote - I usually just use the Windows "show desktop" button.
There's a "show desktop" button? Where is it?

Quote - It is an unlabled small rectangle at the end of taskbar on right. If you mouse over it the title will appear momentarily.
Wow! That's one of those things I've seen over and over again, but never actually noticed. I guess I thought it was some decorative element, or something.
Thank you.

There is also a keyboard shortcut for this - [Windows Key]-[D].

Poser 8 and Pro 2010 did not like to be left to render while one did other tasks on the computer. In fact it didn't even need to be rendering. It was a very jelaous mistress and would generally (but not always) crash if you switched away from it. This is the Mac version. Poser Pro 2012 is much better in the regard. I think they cleaned up some memory problems in this version.
I noticed my renders crashing when I even thought about minimizing the application or clicking the show desktop button.
I have the 2012 version and recently its been acting really strange when it comes to render times =(
Is there a way to minimize the risk of it crashing while rendering?
or
Is there a faster method to boost up the rendering engine itself?
I posted a thread earlier about this but no replies

Hopefully someone really awesome like Bagginsbill or Tempesta3d can shed some light =)
Do you want to use a differend rendering engine or do you want to have more control to Poser's Firefly renderer?
If you want the later, you will find advanced options in the menu:
[Scripts][Partners][Dimension 3D][Render Firefly]
If you want to use a different render engine for movies I would suggest you take a look at Vue, which can import Poser szenes and even keep the Poser materials when needed. No idea how stable this is when rendering movies, you might want to ask for it in the Vue forum. You will find Vue here.
You can render directly into Divx if you have the codec installed. But usually it's better to render in single images and create the movie from them later. This way, you won't have to redo eveything if something goes wrong.

thanks I'll try rendering my scenes using the advanced setting =)
Yes, that's right.

Is there any way to minimize Poser Pro 64 bit during a render, or while a Python script is running? I thought this was possible on 32 bit Windows using the "runbelownormal" trick that Bagginsbill revealed some time back, but I can't find any such trick for Windows 7 64 bit.
