Subject: Too many connections

Fatal error: MySQL error: Too many connections in /rn1/renderosity/public_html/classes/class.bw_Database.php(1) : eval()'d code(1) : eval()'d code(1) : eval()'d code(1) : eval()'d code(1) : eval()'d code on line 162

Anyone else getting this ?

25 minutes i was faced with this ?

Things like this are usually caused by lack of bandwidth yet according to site stats there are only 1491 users on line????

I have read a couple of posts on RR in relation to this problem where all the answers seem to be the same?

WE ARE LOOKING INTO IT?

Has anyone actually looked yet at resolving this problem?

It certainly does not look like it since it still exists and appears to be getting worse.

Where do you report things like this ?

Beyond me since i don't use the whole board.

But i do know that many many people are getting fed up sitting at their pc trying to get a connection.

Peter I run into that too from time to time, why does it happen? I don't know! ;D

Maybe it's an evil entity trying to shut down the site. LOL!

But the place to complain about stuff is here:

Pete, this means there are too many simultaneous connections to rendo. It's possible that their 'persistent' connections were timing out. They need to increase their number of maximum connections.

BIPOLARTWO ( ) posted Mon, 14 November 2011 at 5:26 AM

That's it exactly-But to do so they probably need to increase their bandwith as the amount of connections on a site this size is generally regulated on bandwidth available.

The other side of the coin is that an increase of bandwidth costs money and buying more but finding it is not getting used is then regarded as a waste of money-Catch 22.

But for a site that states it's monthly visitors are in the millions to suffer from this problem is rather silly and should not be happening.

When the site is having roughly 5000 visitors it seem's sort of balanced out but some people are still having the problem.

When it hit's the 6000 mark there is a bigger increase with those having the problem.

so the higher that the users numbers the bigger the problem .

I posted where kborg suggested and the kind reply i received was that they thought that the problem was resolved.

Personally i am not moaning ( i usually do ) but for those who actually pay to use the site and face this dilema is pathetic-no one should have to wait a half hour constantly tring to connect..so so silly

If I remember correctly, the error message is a bit misleading. It's more of a MYSQL (programming language)error than a bandwidth issue.

Issues such as this should always be posted in the Community Center Forum. Usually, there is a thread already started..
