Hello, I just wanted to share a bit of animation with you and to get some feedback, still a little rough, I would really like to hear what you have to say, thanks for looking.

ps, anyone know why I can't change my Avetar? I sized it accordingly.

Just great. My favorite moment is when the craft's wing lightly touches the water's surface and we see the resulting concentric circular waves.

doing anomation always reminds me of my Amiga days when you started a render and checked in on it in a day or 2....you have great patience or many computers my friend .  ..  ...

I think you pretty much have the grasp there Mike LOL!! Very well done animation, the longest Bryce animation I ever had was for a client and it took 3 months to render, he actually went on vacation twice, also it was being batch rendered on 4 machines talk about a butt puckering when it was finally done, I tripled checked everything before sending it to render and thank god there were no anomolies anywhere.

mikedaddysmooth ( ) posted Fri, 18 November 2011 at 1:35 AM

Thanks, and I am thinking of getting a seond machine after the first of the year. That should help. Seems like I check and check, but a light moves or a texture changes. I coulcn't imagine waiting for three months. I found doing them in small increments at a time is much better on my sanity.

Do you create everything in Bryce, or do use a few in tandem.

The grass and cloth was done in Maya. Just some things you can't do in Bryce hehe, well you could prolly do the the cloth.

Actually now that I think about it, I had to have the Maya people write out a tut on how to make the grass interact with an object because no one could remember how it was done LMAO!!! Its actually pretty easy.

pretty funny but I'm sure that with what they're working with that was a small problem solved early on, and even I forget some stuff some times*[tongue firmly planted in cheek]*

The Grass is amazing.

Whilst I got you here, I was watching a tut on Vimeo about using slope filter. He then said 'press shift and click on the top' to bring up textures and he clicked on one called setup, which is a blank slate, I have the latest version, and I don't have it that I can find, what am I missing?

That I cannot say, I have my own presets set up the way I use them.

Oh I see what ya mean, in the mat lab shift click on the mat pebble and it brings up a different menu, has been in Bryce always.

Mike if its all basic presets you should see something, but it looks like he has his own presets made. That looks like a David Brennen set up heheh.

This is all I have. I would like to have the one setup. I made one and I can get there, but it takes a little tweeking when I get there, I know what I do and the tut is never exact, but I couldn't get the slope to do exacly what I wanted it to do, because it didn't start blank. added is what I have.

They are saved as a .brt, how do I make my own?

clay ( ) posted Fri, 18 November 2011 at 2:15 PM

just make your mat, then shift click in the top middle and once in there hit the add feature  name it what you like and it will bring up a blank library where you can add your own preset.

Thats what I had thought to do, Clay, but I shift/click it, go to add and all it tries to do is add the randomly generated one, it ignores the actual object and tex.

I will check that out Bobby
