Hi everyone

Since the introduction of Daz Studio 4 and the Genesis system forums have started over a number of issues involving content availability for Daz Studio 4 and Poser. Some of the comments have been questioning, supportive, confused, indifferent, hopeful, and at times angry/insulting.

I have created a survey of 9 questions based on some of the things I've read.  This survey is UNOFFICIAL!!!

I have done my best to make the questions as unbiased as possible. Also, if you choose to take the survey you will only be able to do it once; while this is unofficial I would like to have some validity (unlike some of those not to be mentioned "reality" shows).

There are no places for comments. If you have any please make them here.

This survey will be open for 2 weeks from Dec. 12 to 26 with results being posted on or around Jan 01, 2012 (depends on how New Years Eve goes).

No results will be shared untill that time (I don't want to bias the results)

Should you take the survey I would like to thank you in advance.

Make sure to drag/rank all the content types in the last(?) question, even if you never purchase anything in that category otherwise you get an javascript/cookies error. At least I did.

Content Advisory! This message contains profanity

Comment #1: whatever the result will be, DAZ won't give a shit about it because they have already made up their minds on everything. Basing firm strategies on user requirements has never been part of DAZ corporate DNA so it is utterly futile to make polls unless... see next point...

Comment #2: ...easy to stuff; might be used to "show", like "elections" with only one Party candidate per seat, the the people "want" what the Party is going to give them any way.

Bye.

That's Ok if Daz doen't care about the results - this survey is to satisfy some curiosity. And who knows - maybe they'll be interested as well.

Hopefully it won't be easy to stuff. With the way I set it up a person can only answer once from a particular ISP. Anyways I did say it was unofficial and unsupported.

IMO only someone reeeally, reeeally fanatic would go to the trouble to rig something like this. Of course, such people do seem to exist n'est-ce pas?

No need of being fanatic.

Anybody without a static IP connection just has to vote, take down the ADSL connection, remove all cookies from the browser, restore the ADSL connection (getting a new IP address) and repeat.

As captain Kirk said, "You have to learn why things work"; developing web applications teaches you lot about these issues.

Bye.

P.S.: I do not waste time commenting thinly veiled accusations; since the official disavowment by DAZ_Rand of certaint people, certain comments have no more relevance of any kind.

I just want to know where the "tempest in a teapot" option is. ;)

One less jocular question I have ab't said survey...

I don't have a platinum club membership (because I don't buy that much stuff from anybody these days), so why would the last question be relevant to me? Maybe an option of " not applicable" would be useful.

The presence or abscence of Genesis hasn't changed my perception of having a PC membership or the reasons why I would want (or not want) one. The reason I don't have one is because I don't spend enough to justify 'buying' bulk discounts at any store.

Just a thought.

Actually I thought of putting in a question similar to the teapot option - maybe next time. Possibly something like "In regards to the issues voiced in the forums regarding Genesis are you:

Freaked?

Pissed?

Annoyed?

Indifferent?

"Genesis all the way baby!"?

"What does a creation belief have to do with any of this"?

As to the last question I thought the first question covered what you're asking. The last question was merely to see if you would renew or purchase a membership or would wait to see what happens (I guess in a way the tempest in the teapot answer).

It's the first time I've put together a servey so I expect there will be a learning curve on how to phrase questions and what kind of options to offer in the answers.

So far so good. I've had a decent number of responces but the more the merrier.  While I can't post results yet some trends are popping up.

Comical. I clicked on the link and Kwiki Wiki or whatever it was said I can only vote once from this IP Address. Never heard of em'... never been to the page.

Sorry about that - this is my first survey and I may have goofed on some of the settings.  One of the choices was to block an individual from making multiple enteries based on their current ISP - maybe that was one of those freek incidences were you had an ISP someone else had.
