I am not sure about other vendors but this year my gift to my customers was one of my top selling characters of all time being completely revamped and re-released, previous buyers got her for free as their Christmas gift from me. Doing this + 3 other products, didn't leave time for anything else unfortunately.
Just because some of us didn't have a product in the Holiday give away, didn't mean we didn't give something away. And as someone else said, a lot of us give products all year long. 8)
