Subject: Vue infinite 10:my ecosystem not responding

martial ( ) posted Fri, 23 December 2011 at 3:18 PM · edited Sat, 10 August 2024 at 6:39 AM

Bonjour

I am using Vue infinite 10 (last build:10008456 ,same problem with 100008360)

Each time i try to use a material with ecosystem or when i try to use painting plants for an ecosystem ,the plants seems loading ok but after that  Vue trurns and (not responding ) I wait  longer time  and must close each time

never meet this before and using a lot of ecosystems

I am on Windows 7 64 bits system with 8 gigs ram

Someone have an idea to correct this??

Thanks

Hi mate,

Have the task manager open when you are doing this and take a look at the memory usage, if its just going up and up its a memory leak I would expect and your running out of ram, which is why maybe your hard drive might be going all the time. Worth taking a look at as its happened to me and if that is the case, report it to E-on, it will be fixed in Vue 11 :) lol

Ok, cheap shot but still :)

how big is ur scene. in Previous Vue whn u load a terrain, the size of terrain by default is 256 * 256. while in VUE 10 size of terrain by default is 1Km * 1km, thus it uses hell lot of memory n time to populate. try reducing the size of terrain and then populate with very low density.  if it responds well, go on slowly incresing the pop. which u wan.

do try ths.

I have tried low resolution terrain (126 by 126 ) and only simple plant.Same problem

Just as i see the plant in the windows of eco painting i try to select this just loaded plant and voila! windows turning wheel appears and Vue not responding

i have just discovered also that if i load an older scene with ecosystem on landscape it have problem too

At the beginning of version 10 i have no problem with this on same system

I have an backup of my Vue 10 folder( 2-3 versions old ),Can i copy the files from the back folder inside the VUe folder and restore my Vue 10 when it was ok

what is this '' Vue 10 infinite launcher.exe '' inside my back folder?

Funny that i am using Vue since version 2 (version one found  in a magazine but not work in my system) and never use the back folder but may be this was not possible in earler versions

Thanks

Which plants are you using in your eco-system that you are painting with?

Eco-painted trees looks broken in build 10008456 right now.  Colors are all wrong in render thumbnail.

Dropping a regular tree into an eco-painted forest triggers the bug.

I just find solution (Christmass gift i think)

Change my display option to OpenGl( fixed hardware pipeline)

and it works

First time my video card (Geforce 9600) is not fully supported by other diplay options
