RorrKonn ( ) posted Sat, 24 December 2011 at 4:36 AM · edited Tue, 22 October 2024 at 10:06 AM

When ya bend ya wrist that knot thats rases up n down that seems to be at the end of the Ulna Bone.

The region around the Ulna Bone ,Triquetrum ,Pisiform Transverse Fiber Of Palmar Aponeurosis "Palmar Carpal Ligament"

What might that knot be called ?

Thanks a lot.

I believe that is the styloid process of the Ulna.

estherau ( ) posted Sat, 24 December 2011 at 6:46 AM

No the styloid is the little pointy bit right at the end of the distal ulna.  The nobby bit you can feel is called the head of the ulna.

It's kind of funny because the radial head is in the elbow but the head of the ulna is at the wrist.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

the styloid is just a little tiny pointy bit on the end of the ulna and you can't even feel it through your wrist, so that pic is just pointing in the rough direction.  If you fracture your ulna styloid it usually doesn't cause too much problem although there is a little triangular cartiledge attached to it that forms part of the wrist joint.  the whole nobby end is called the head of the ulna.

I have terrorized goole, have countles human anatomy charts,
no 2 seem a like and some have this and some have that.
some have a Extensor Carpi Radialis Longus Muscle.

some have a Flexor Carpi Radialis Longus Muscle.
no one knows if it's the same Muscle.
and we have names such as Sternocleidomastoideus Muscle.
there are no resones for for any one to be cussed that bad ;)

All I want to do is draw a character ,lol good luck using medical human anatomy charts.

I think the reson that some docs just can't cure you & medicail school
is so hard n has a lot of drop outs is cause there charts are not that great.

I'm blaming the intier medical field disater on there 1/2 ass charts. :)

Nah we don't use those charts.  we have big expensive books called anatomy atlases that are not online.

There are 2 tendons - on the front of the wrist is flexor carpi ulnaris,  and on the back of the wrist is extensor carpi ulnaris.  there is no longus for those as they have no brevis tendon there.

Can u exsplain to me why the head of the ulna seems like it moves seperate from the ulna

it's just called head of the ulna but it's a defrent bone not atached to the ulna ?

or it's not moving seperate the ulna but just seems that way ?
