Subject: It would seem V4 received a stay of execution

Man , ya gotta love this thread.  started out on V4 and now we're discussing something approaching the mathmatic formula that solves everything.

For what it's worth:  Daz and its vendors will continue to support what ever makes Daz money.

If they believe that V5 (or what ever it will morph to) will outsell V4, then they will go in that direction.

BUT!

Anyone out there remember IBM and Micro Channel Architecture.  Greatest thing for PC's, better than the just plain architechture that most peolple used, but only on IBMs.  IBM demanded royalty fees to use their system.  No one wanted to pay so the other guys used the slightly slower one and now the question is..........How many of you are using an IBM right now?????   (let's see 1.....2...3.. that's all??)

If Daz continues to go in an excusive direction, they may be right up there with IBM.

Just an observation.   (and I didn't even get into the V4 v"ersus" argument).

I use whatever seems to work, even V2 (great for backgrouns)

Other vendors created EISA. The market, not knowing what to do, waited, keeping using ISA. A few years later, the PCI bus was born and everybody migrated there consigning MCA to a footnote in the history of computing.

Bye.

I was glad to see this thread as I agree. One of my first thoughts when I purchased and rendered v5 was that I could not see a real defining improvement on the figure. In fact in a few comparison renders that I have observed I would say that unless the figures were specifially lableled it would be difficult to discern if it is v4 or v5. V4WM is comparable to using V5 in Poser. I am not sure why everyone was fussing so much about not being able to used Genesis in Poser as I really don't have a desire to. I prefer V4 any day. I hope that vendors keep the support up for her.
