Follow the link. This is a render of a tattoo image merged onto skin in a shader - no Photoshop work.Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. One Click Wounds for Poser for example has a python for applying the scars and wounds, that can be applied over G4 textures. (you can't see them until you render)
Previous complaints about tattoos were that they looked on the skin rather than under it, but the new Poser SSS could be very useful to make tattoos look real, ie. within the skin.
Quote - @Ashley9803: you did see bagginsbill's link in his post. That was done way before P9/PP2012 without the improved SSS.
Did you notice the post above his suggesting the node approach? LOL that was a long time ago.
I'm just saying that the new inability to have true SSS (translucent) skin in poser might lend itself to having a tattoo "bleed" benieth the skin surface, like a real one does.
Just a thought.

Is there a way to create a 'tattoo' that could be overlayed any skin texture mat? For example one tattoo that can be used on any character but not change the underlying skin color/texture?
I hope I'm making sense! :)
