Subject: Help pls what Vue version do I use to start?

What version am I supposed to use as a beginner? I want to create rich landscapes and eventually bring stuff over from Daz studio onto it.

I go on the vue official site and theres like 20 million different versions! vue 10 seems to be the latest version so is Vue 10 pioneer (which is free) the right one to start with? also why do you have to pay for other versions and not the free one?

thx.

The free one has the least features and tools, so you pay extra for add-ons.  Buy at least the Vue 10 Complete version.  That way you don't have to pay extra for other features later.  If you want a taste of what Infinite can do, download the free PLE version of Infinite/xStream.  It's rendering is limited with watermarks.  But you can do a lot with it.  Then buy Infinite if you feel you cannot live without those features in PLE.

There is a comparison chart at http://www.e-onsoftware.com/products/vue/vue_10_complete/?page=chart

Thx for the reply Shawn but do you know what the main add ons you would need for a reasonably functioning vue would be? I mean what main add ons would you need for it to operate alright and fairly detailed for landscape work?

Modules you would still need to buy if you go with something cheap like Vue 10 Esprit are:

LightTune

EcoSystem

Botanica

(and maybe EcoPainter)

I agree with Shawn, those are the least you will need.

Just recently got a email from Eon that they were having a Anniversary 50%+ off sale. I would suggest looking at Vue 10 Studio as a good starting edition. It includes all the suggested modules except EcoPainter.
