Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 19 5:17 am)
The image is just a display of your created pose and yes you can offer your poses along with the images. But you cannot offer the actuall V4 object data. this ensures that if a user wishes to use your poses they have to have the required object/figure (in this case V4) from the original creator before they can use the poses.
I hope this helps.

Why wouldn't you be able to use an image of V4? That's part of the EULA that comes with it; you're allowed to make images of the model. Nobody really gives a rat's ass what you do with the images, they're yours.

Quote - So I'm working on a bunch of poses which one day I may offer for sale... we'll see. But anyway I was wondering I'm working on them all for V4. When you save the pose to the Pose Library Folder, it save the image of V4 with it. Is that OK to bundle up in a pose package for sale? Seems to me like I wouldn't be able to use V4...?
That's just an image, it contains no data. It's just something Poser does so that you can identify what you saved.
You can easily make your own thumbnails. I can't recall off hand how big the thumbnails are. I think in Poser 6 they are 90x90 pixels, not sure about the other versions. Simply create the scene, set your render size to the size of the thumbnail you want to create, render and then save it as a .png with the same name as the one Poser created. You will now have a lovely thumbnail for your poses.

others see us. Try as we may, we are never
able to know ourselves fully as we
are, especially the evil side of us.
This we can do only if we are not
angry with our critics but will take in good
heart whatever they might have to
say." - Ghandi
The standard Poser 4+ thumbnail sizes are 91x91 pixels. However with Poser 8 and up you can use larger thumbnail sizes. I normally make mine (my personal thumbs) 120x120 cause I tend to increase the size of the images in the library ;). For freebies and things that I distribute, I make them 91x91 pixels.
