Subject: upgrade poser pro 2010 to poser pro 2012

Thinking of upgrading from Poser pro 2010 to pro 2012. It it worth the $200? What are the key upgrade benefits? The thing that started me thinking about an upgrade is Blackhearted's GNDA, which appears to be quite awesome (but unfortunately has no clothes) but I don't know that GNDA by herself is worth the $200 upgrade price. I am thrilled with the fast render times in 2010. If the rendering and lighting is significantly improved in 2012 then it would probably be worth it. Are there any painful learning curve issues with 2012?

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

Blackhearted's GNDA is not included with PoserPro 2012: she's based on Alyson 2 and you can buy her for $20.

cspear - You need to buy P9 or PP 2012 in order to have any point in buying GNDA for $20.

Lance doesn't think GNDA comes with Poser.

SSS is worth the price of admission alone - its the biggest leap forward in poser realism since raytracing.

(ok, IDL was also a huge leap)

Between SSS and weight-mapping, Poser Pro 2012 is more than worth the upgrade price, IMO.

Cage can be an opinionated jerk who posts without thinking.  He apologizes for this.  He's honestly not trying to be a turkeyhead.

Cage had some freebies, compatible with Poser 11 and below.  His Python scripts were saved at archive.org, along with the rest of the Morphography site, where they were hosted.
