Received an email regarding a Poser Sale. I have been waiting for a sale to upgrade from Poser 2010 to 2012.

Only when I click on the links provided under Poser 2012 Upgrade pricing it sends me to a Poser 9 page.

I see a Poser 2012 listing on the side I click it and the upgrade prices are there BUT NO SALE PRICE for either FULL or UPGRADE 2012 on that page.

Am I missing something?

No, you're not. I get the same thing. Seems they need to fix their links. I'll go to CP and shoot them an email.

I left a message at RDNA fro ThinkCooper. I don't know how often he checks messages there.

I did not get an EMail, and I saw no mention of this at Content Paradise.

The LINK to that page is posted in another thread here.

Well, I know he checks them here pretty quick the times I had to sitemail him. I just didn't wanna burden him with this since he probably can't do anything about it personally :P. But now at least they can't say we didn't tell em...lol.

I just looked at the page and I don't see an upgrade option just a sale of 50% off the list price for Poser Pro 2012. I did not get the EMail, so I don't know what that said exactly.

The upgrade price for PP2012 from PP2010 is also $199.99 (on a differeant page at the Smith Micro Site), which offers no discount at all for upgrading. That seems curious to me.

Here is the Web link for the Email. It does the same thing. Click on Upgrade for 2012 and it sends you to Poser 9 page.

Hmm..well, if there is no sale price for the upgrade, why bother putting the link on the sale email? LOL.

I will never understand corporations ;)

I AM SORRY, I mistyped. I spotted it the second I loaded my answer, and I tried to edit or delete it, but the Internet connection for our business crashed, and I had to wait to get back online.

The regular Price for Poser Pro 2012 is $499.99 (USD). The Valentine's day sale price is $299.99 (USD). That is $200 off, but that is not 50% off, which would be $250 dollars off. Their math on that is wrong. That discount is about 40%. I bet some one has already pointed that out to S/M.

The UPGRADE price (on this page) for Poser Pro 2012 from Poser Pro 2010 is $199.99, which is $300 dollars off ( a discount of 60%). This does not appear to be on sale, but it is cheaper than the sale price to buy instead of upgrading.

I apologize for the misinformation.

I don't understand why there are several different pages for purchasing the product, some with one price (the sale price) and others with No sale price.

A word whether or not the Upgrade price will go on sale (especially when Upgrade pricing is mentioned in the Sale email) would be nice.

Is that becoming like an arrow through the knee?

Could be.

"We used to care about Poser - Then we took an arrow to the knee" LOL (meaning Daz :P)

Well I talked with a Smithmicro rep today who said the upgrade was not on sale and that the email was indeed poorly written.

I went ahead and upgraded as I has planned before the Sale that wasnt a sale for me.

Sorry for that, I think theirs were well-intentioned mistakes.

But, welcome to the new Poser! I think you will be glad you upgraded. PLEASE download Antonia~WM and V4~WM. I think you will be thrilled with the improvements that weight-maps allow.

If you look carefully on Amazon you can get it for less than $200. Still full version, but what's the difference? Still yours ;). And until the next version of Poser comes out, that's likely as low as you're gonna find it.

Thanks LaurieA, but that's Academic Pricing -- Unless I'm still missing something.  Maybe I can get my granddaughter to buy it for me.

LaurieA ( ) posted Fri, 10 February 2012 at 10:30 PM · edited Fri, 10 February 2012 at 10:32 PM

I looked just now on Amazon and saw it for $199 and nowhere have I seen anything that says academic anything. I don't believe there is an academic version of Poser and if there is, it's not being sold on Amazon that I'm looking at.

Thanks LaurieA!!  I see PoserPro 2012 on Amazon for $199, now.  Got some better deals on E-Bay, with faster shipping.

Since it's the physical dvds you're buying I'm thinking the serial would be on the packaging ;).

Just got my PoserPro 2012 from EBay and installed it.  The serial numbers are included in the package.  I encountered no problems with registration or obtaining SR1.

Now to catch up with "an old friend."

I have a paid for copy of DS4 Pro.  I was thinking about switching, even before DAZ started giving it away for free -- But more about that later, when I can make a fair comparison.

Are there any clothes for any of the characters in Poser Pro 2012?

There are clothes and jewelry in the Props folder.  They put conforming clothes in the Props folder.

Thanks MistyLaraPrincess!!

I like the new library.  I can put V4's clothes, props, poses, and character mats in the V4 directory.  No need to worry about what is a pose, material, character, or whatever.
