Well it won't be Iggy singing "I Wanna Be Your Dog".

Well, I'm off to listen to my Stooges records, then.
And I was watching Watchmen earlier today and not liking it much, so I was hoping to report that here and be actually on-topic for the thread. So now I've reported the fact, but I'm not on topic. Alas.

Never really saw much merit in it myself, truth be told.
As for squid attacking cities, it damned well better not be mine. I've been a bit quiet lately because I just scored a place on the beach (west coast... hurricanes need not apply). The rent is reasonable, and the living room has a huge wall of glass that shows off the waves very nicely.
Now I just gotta get moved... :)

I heard the ending was screwed up the most.

Well, there's that. But very little of it worked, for me. For instance, Rorshach had the voice I always imagined for the Comedian, and most of the other voices were just jarring for me, after almost 20 years of imagining them. And... why does the SILK Spectre wear latex? Plus, the visual style of the graphic novel defines the story in that medium so much, looking like almost nothing else. The art is very regular, with odd visual angles or unusual uses of perspective being a rarity. But the movie looks like every other action movie, with the angles and the composition, and... all that blue light! Visually, the movie turns me off, even when they do get the design halfway right. I think they'd have been better off making it look like a documentary made with handheld cameras, or something. On top of that, they monkeyed with the story just enough to spoil it for me.
So I usually watch with the sound off, and I rarely get more than 30 minutes in. Oh well. I keep trying, now and then.

Oh.. how different we see things, Ive always loved the Watchmen comics so when I watched the movie I had very low expectations.
But I was blown away by it and enjoyed every second of the film.
I dare to say that the film makers of the Watchmen hit the nail as much as those who made "V for Vendetta" (another great movie interpretation of a wonderful comic).
Its very rare to see a good film based on a superhero comic but the two mentioned above has a very special place in my heart :-)
Unfortunately I have seen many other movies that broke my heart instead, Daredevil, Electra etc

I'm actually a bit jealous. I'd rather like it than hate it, and I do keep trying. But it's like the Seventh Doctor era of Doctor Who. No matter how I try, I can't seem to enjoy it. :scared: On the other hand, I'm glad that both the Watchmen movie and the Seventh Doctor era were actually made. They have some value, in spite of my inability to appreciate them.

Well I never read or watched the Watchmen, but the Harry Potter film characters were in tune with how I imagined them :-) I 'm usually OK with the visuals if the story and the characters are true to the written version. Mycroft Holmes would NOT have walked around naked in front of Watson's wife, Spock would NOT have been sucking face with Uhura (oustide of Pon Farr (sic)) etc. etc. .
