I haven't seen this problem, but have you installed the service release? It will update it to version 9.0.1.18621 (it's in the help>about screen). It can be gotten here....

"Oh - the manual says that? I have never read the manual - this must be why."I have Bilyt leather teddy which is very similar. Do not forget to go into the pose foler and use "corset body inject". I am fairly sure there will be one with the corset.

If you have used Scaling or Morphforms as part of V4's settings, be sure to conform with Scaling included.
The other most likely causes are that either the clothing doesn't have matching morphs for all those you used on V4 (select V4 body, Ctrl-C to copy settings, select clothing body, Ctrl-V to paste setting) and/or you haven't "magnetised" the clothing (to match JCMs).
I use PP2012 too ... try this ... select the clothing figure ... click the properties tabe on the figure and select the "include morphs when conforming". If this does not work you may have to adjust the parts individually.

Ok will try that. Don't get me wrong I know how to use poser. I'm an oldie who just took a timeout. I've used 2010, p8 and p7 with no probs p7 being my favourite and the one i ised the most with no probs. Just this one has me head bashing more than usual lol. V4 was a fresh install, as was everything else. Never rendered on my laptop b4; never rendered on a laptop b4 (dell xps 17 ). Usually use my pc but thanks to docs messing my back up during a spinal tap I find it too painful to sit at the pc.
MY son said it maybE just a baD instalL. So if all else faiLs I will reinstall it. Thank you again Lou X

Since you have PP2010, here is something I do when I have a problem like this. Take the PZ3 file and load it into PP2010. It will tell you it is newer than it recognizes, but just click okay and it loads just fine. See if it reacts any differently there.
I have found two different problems with PP2012 this way and reported them to SM. You never know.

Hi there
I've just started using poser 2012 and I think I'm having a few teething problems. A problem I don't seem to be able to find an answer for.
Clothing doesn't seem to conform. When I load the figure and conform it just seems to hang there. It conforms in the sense if I move v4.2 it goes with it but it doesn't "mould" to Vickie. It basically doesn't do anything. It happens with most clothing but what I want to load is the v4 leather corset by billyt.
So does anyone have any answers. Maybe it's something in the preferen es or something diff than in previous posers. All I know is I'm unable to dress my chars.
Also does anyone have any advice for 1)preferences and 2)renders settings until I get back into the swing of things. I've been out of the loop due to bad health and a few bereavements and a few things have changed since then and I'm a little rusty.
Thanks in advance and pls ignore any typos as I'm on my phone.
Kind regards Lou x
