Subject: Snow Machine 2: testers wanted

Snarlygribbly ( ) posted Sat, 25 February 2012 at 8:35 AM · edited Thu, 28 November 2024 at 1:16 PM

A new version of my Snow Machine script is in development and ready for initial testing.

It is in the alpha stage, which means that the feature set hasn't been completely determined yet, i.e. I'm open to suggestions. It does, however, appear to be working.

If you use Poser Pro 2112 or Poser 9 and are willing to test it and offer suggestions, please send me a PM.

Cheers,
Snarly

No, though it does look pretty good. Bit icy, I think, but then that's what BB appears to have called it :-)

Set reflexion blur to 1 for less "icy" style ...

Not tried ;)

does anyone have a script or product for steam/smoke rising? I want to do an outdoors winter Japanese bath scene with snow on everything.

Have a look at this thread at RDNA. Bagginsbill made a smoke prop which might easily be adapted to steam

I did a test with this on a large scene, to see if I could choke it. Nope, PP2012 and snowmachine worked fine!

In related news, I need to get a faster machine. This took about 4 hours to render. (No fault of the snow machine... it was on higher quality, and I was using a large scene to push my system to the limit.)

the snow on the sides of the trees...that was already there, right? in my tries it only adds straight down.

come to think of it, a "blizzard control" feature would be nice....gives the direction of impact!

nice scene and render.

There's a setting.....Top Surface Only...uncheck that to get a more "blizzardy" look.

So cool :).

Nope, the snow on the sides of the trees was added by the shader. I rendered the poser included log, and it even picked up a bit of snow on the cracks on the end.

I'd like to see something similar to this only with leaves and tree blossums like cherry blossums.
