So we are doing all his cars over again.
The 51 Chevy Panel Van is only the first. All of them will be re-built with interiors.
This is the Panel Van interior - very minimal, but sufficient for showing people in the car.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
Nurmer appears to be the massively talented and elusive Dan Palatnik.
His stuff is incredible/

I've never found any place to buy them and he has never responded to my inquiries to sell any.
“So, roll me further B_t__h!”
"Nurmer appears to be the massively talented and elusive Dan Palatnik." Awesome models. He did a brief interview at Planit3d. Drat edit widgets not showing up so you'll have to C&P http://www.planit3d.com/source/interviews/palatnik/dan_palatnik.html

Quote - I suggested to Tom that they need minimal interiors - they cannot be blank. He was trying to keep the polygon count really low, but you need seats, steering wheel, and a mirror.
So we are doing all his cars over again.

Thanks for the update, low poly is good, but at times I like more details.
Open doors, windows, are other extras I like.
Quote - Here's a character inside.
My interiors end up too dark; are you using IBL, or did you use IDL and take the refraction out of the glass shader?

"Oh - the manual says that? I have never read the manual - this must be why."The latter. There is no need to suffer the indignity of Poser refraction with thin glass.

 Thanx, Ted. I see you are officially a vendor now...

Well now that the cats out of the bag, I would like to ask.
What cars suit your fancy folks? Please be specific year make and model.
No promises on what we will produce but, will really look hard at your requests.
Like Ted said, we are rebuilding the old cars that are no longer in my store, but with simple interiors, as I have to drawn the line somewhere.
The good news is, we are including in the area of 45 car finishes by Ted!
Stay tuned to this station...
:-)

Quote - Hi Niles,
I love your Avatar. Very original! :-)
I have a station wagon started.
Let's keep those suggestions coming and please keep in mind it needs to be something a lot of people would like to buy.
Tom
"a lot of people would like to buy"
Maybe a panty wagon, with sword like door handles, with a temple parking garage.
;)
Love to see a 1970 Dodge Challenger. I'm restoring one now. Other old muscle cars would be fun too ... 1969 camaro, etc.

I'm sure there are people out there that need them. I like the Camaro you have. If I'm going to buy a car, it has to give me something more than just four wheels. There has to be some excitement to it. Lets face it. Most new cars are as boring as a visit to the dentist.

I think most Poser users are hobbyist. I could be wrong about this, but it seems that Pros are using software like Max, etc. If you want to make something that will sell well to Poser users, this is something to keep in mind. The only reason I can think of that a hobbyist would want new cars (2011, etc.) in a scene is that the absence of cars would be noticeable and draw attention from the things you want people to be looking at. Using new cars will keep people from noticing the absence and new cars are much less likely to draw attention than something flashy and exciting.
For instance, I have a scene that uses a very large grouping of city streets and buildings. I want to take a shot on a street corner of a good looking girl. The shot includes a section looking down the street into the foggy distance. I would want to load the street up with cars so it looks right.
Just a thought.

Don't people ever show a character driving to work? Does she drive a 1939 Jaguar wearing a thong and wave a sword out the window, or is she in a 2008 Toyota Camry and talking on the cell phone?
I mean - this is a very nice car but ...

I'm not really into cars, but it needs to have functional doors or at least fully modeled doors that I can rig myself if necessary, and a usable interior. If detail is lacking it needs to be cheap, because I don't like to spend much on things that are only useful as background clutter.
Here's an example, this is the only car model I've bought so far:
http://www.daz3d.com/i/shop/itemdetails/?item=11260
I agree with BB though, ordinary contemporary vehicles would be nice. I have Stonemason's Urban Sprawl 2, and very few cars to populate such a scene.
Just for fun, here is the image I was talking about above. It needs some cars. The camaro is the one behind the car with the door open. It would make a lot more sense if I had some newer, less exotic cars in it.

I need modern cars too. not shiny but not old fashioned. with and without interiors, and preferably with removable panels for interior shots of characters driving along talking.
Love esther
I aim to update it about once a month. Oh, and it's free!
We do need both. We need cars to fill up the background and we need cars to be the up-front stars. Kind of like hollywood has props and extras, but it is the star out front.

Quote - Does anyone want or need cars like 2011 Toyota Camery or modern cars like that? If so what model year and make?
71 AMC Javelin is a nice looking body.
Tom
Yes!
I've wanted to get my 2009 Hyundai Elantra SE HD in some of the scenes I've made ever since I got the car. :D
My car is slightly modded though so I guess I couldn't have my exact car in Poser.
