Hello to everyone ... I m a poser user since a long time but new to dazstudio. I had some trouble trying to import some animation made in dazstudio to poser.

So first what I did was to make an animation in dazstudio using motion capture. The motion was made with dazstudio 2.3 then import in dazstudio 4 and then export as a pose animation for poser using the poser format exporter plugins from daz3d. Everything ok until that moment but when I load the animation in poser I got awfull result ... the fugure brokes during all the animation ... is there something I m doing wrong ? The first frame of the animation is ok but when going to the second frame to play it .. BAM !!!! disaster ...

I put a picture of the result ... this was supposed to be M4 walking .... In dazstudio he was walking ... in poser .... not ...

"The motion was made with dazstudio 2.3 then import in dazstudio 4 and then export as a pose animation for poser using the poser format exporter plugins from daz3d."

Hi still use Daz studio 2.3  to create animation using the Animate+ motion mixer and I Export to an animated pose file using the free PFE plugin.

My ask why you are doing the additional step of importing into DS4 before sending the motion out for final use in poser?

I suspect that it  is DS4 that is corrupting your animated pose
( Pz2) file.

Have you tried using the DS 2.3 version of the PFE
and using that exported motion file in poser??

That s a good question .... Actually I did not know I could do it in dazstudio 2.3 .... but the problem I have with dazstudio 2.3 is that I have install it recently in my pc and there is a problem with the content library ... in the installation I had an error message  about the content .... will try with daz 2.3 hoping that I do not need the content library to find the plugins ... thanks a lot for the help.

The problem is that I have trouble with dazstudio 2.3 and the content library does not appear ... from the installation I got the error and I did several times .... and I can t find the script ... any idea by the way why I have this problem whith dazstudio 2.3 ?

Hi I am not sure what could be the problem with your installation and asking over at the DAz forums
might not be helpful as they have little interest in offering support for older discontinued version of DS.

Sorry.

It's possible that the script was updated and now comes only as a .dsa file, for DS3 and later - I'm not sure. One obvious question, did you turn IK off before applying the pose?

John-Katris ( ) posted Tue, 06 March 2012 at 3:14 AM

Yes I turn IK off but I guess it's something I m missing to do in dazstudio and cannot export correctly the animations .... and using dazstudio 2.3 exporter I m able only to export poses and not animations ...anyway I'm trying to find out the solution ... Thanks anyway for your help.

**"and using dazstudio 2.3 exporter I m able only to export poses and not animations .."**

Hi
are you sure you are not using the original  version of the poser format exporter
that did not initially export animated poses??

the attached image is how your animated Pz2 export dialog  should appear in DS 2.3.

Is there any other version ? the one I have for dazstudio 2.3 does not have the "animated range" fonction.

I see.. indeed you do have the older original PFE I am afraid.

but at this late stage I doubt you will be able to obtain the most recent version for DS 2.3 from Daz themselves

If you were on  Mac OSX We could Seek permission from DAZ for me to Send you a copy My installer for this free OLD script.....or you could submit a report to DAZ about you problem with the DS4 version as they will obviously offer tech support for DS4.

I just reset my download pf Poser Format Exporter, and it was updated last August, and according to the product page it is still compatible with Studio  2.3.3.146...
