Working on a rendering with the loader and my Ripley figure, alien queens kinda hard to pose and a little out of proportion, I will see if I can find fixes for this before I place her in the scene.

I finally went back and tweaked the loader texture you can preview it here, ill make it another free stuff upload soon as i'm done tweaking it, i have gotten better at making stressed aged textures since the forst time I posted this texture it has evolved into something better then it was at first.

The idea is that the loader is not brand new and it has been given some use and left out in the elements and beaten around some, this has an effect on the loaders paint job over time it shows scratches and places where it's been marred and scraped and rusted and missing paint, and greese and dirt and grime have gotten into the nooks and craneys of the machine.

 

 

the texture at top of the thread is not the same as the second texture used in the second rendering I went back and did alot more work on it.

 

this one also uses the new texture.

For which loader "figure", the one from VanishingPoint, or the more recent one that comes as an extra in the Sulaco loading bay set (from the fellow who released the Eccleston/Tennant TARDIS console room)?

one thing.. the Hydraulic Rams won't be that colour. they'd be shiney polished metal. the motion of the Rams plus the required lubricant would keep them polished and rust free... if they rusted as you've shown, that units not moving at all.

Tucan-Tiki is a busy bee these days, glad to see all this enthusiam ...wish i had his energy, or even half of it...

I believe they are the same figure from the sulaco release and vanishingpoint.

 

 

Alien Promethius is about to hit the big screen,little spoilers are popping up around the net now, I finally got some images of what the aliens are to look like, apparently one of the crew gets infected by either an immature parasite or embreonic parasite while experimenting with the bio-goo extracted from a space jokey experiment cilinder, which later turn into parasite eggs, the alien appears to be more human looking most likly because he was infected in a manner inconsistent with the the normal infection of a mature parasite egg.

 

the insect creatures on the planet also become infected and thier dna is added to the memory, by the time the nostromo lands on lv426, the insect dna has already been stored in the memory of the eggs and gets transferred to the next set of hosts revealing an alien we are more familiar with. 

 

what they they did was take the alien back to it's original intended design that got refused by the studio for a longer headed alien Giger design.
