Subject: Creating custom figures in Poser4

eeZee ( ) posted Fri, 12 November 1999 at 7:26 AM ยท edited Mon, 23 December 2024 at 7:50 AM

hello, i've loaded two figures into P4 to create a new figure with the upper part of the first figure and the lower part of the other. all not needed parts i've made invisible. after that i've selected the hip of the first figure as parent for the second and changed to the hierarchicals tool. when i click now the "create new figure" nothing at all happens ??!!?? what's wrong? i've tried the same with a figure and a prop (some kind of horns) and the Hierarchical tool only saves the prop as a figure instead of the whole thing. maybe anyone can help me. thanks

It's a bug that should be addressed in the patch. From what the MetaDudes said this last week in chat, it should be almost done. As much as I too would like the patch ASAP, I'd rather have a decent fix than a buggy one. There are a few work arounds... but without the proper tools, you'll only give yourself a headache. If you don't have a modeling package, the easiest way would be to save a .pz3 with your upper body fig parented to your lower body fig. Open the .pz3 in Dan Wilmes's "Cr2Edit" and convert it to a .cr2. once its in that format it can be used in P4. -Rob

Thanks for responding to that Rob (I learned something new too), and the news about the patch is great to hear. Like you, I'd rather a decent fix which I have to wait for, than a bugged one. Paul

Anything to help, Paul. :) "Picking my brain" forces me to resurface some of the things that get pushed to the back shelf. There is alot of info to remember when working with P4, knowing when to use it can be tricky too... -Rob

Um..no,this will not be addressed in the patch. -JH.

Well, obviously Jeff has an inside scoop that I don't. Last I heard, it was going to be fixed. I guess MC customer "support" isn't so "supportive"? Oh well... the other info I gave you is true, it works, I've done it. -Rob
