Subsurface scattering.

Indirect light.

BB's VSS system.

No fewer than 5 different addons to make V4's breasts bigger.

And someone with a bird-brain (that would be me).

WARK!

Thus Spoketh Winterclaw: a blog about a Winterclaw who speaks from time to time.

(using Poser Pro 2014 SR3, on 64 bit Win 7, poser units are inches.)

Poser Pro

Weight mapped rigging.

Open Source figures.

Vickie 5 isn't Poser compatible out-of the box.

LuxRender.

I'm comparatively new...

PS go over to DAZ, and get Hexagon, Bryce Pro and Studio Pro whilst they are free, which they are until the end of the month, (or longer if it's "extended due to overwhelming demand"again)

welcome back, bert. alot has changed in rendering human skin and putting clothes on poser figures, but some things remain the same in poser, e.g. rendering diamonds.  there's been no improvement since bill's diamond dispersion shader for poser 6.

:O)

Y'all have a great day.

I've got Daz Studio 4(DS), Hex and Bryce, thanks, that nice!  How is Poser Pro 9(PP9)? I have Poser Pro 6(PP6), do I need to upgrade?

Vicky 5 is only for DS and pp9 or pp6 can't use her ?

more read and playing

thanks

Thebert

ps. I can't beleive only 5 morph packages for big boobs in 5 years, I'd think we would had 50 new ones. lol

I love Poser Pro 2012.  You should have come back two weeks sooner; Smith Micro (E-Frontier's sucessor)  had Poser upgrades 50% off.  I''m sure they will again, though. Here are the features...

Genesis/Vickie 5 can be exported from Studio to Poser 9 or 2012, but it currently has limited functionality.  However, there is a free weight mapped rigging conversion for Vicky 4 for Poser 9/Pro 2012..

So if you pose V5 and dress her in DS, you can export out and import into PP2012?

Need to start work on new stuff to sale so I can buy PP2012

Thanks

Genesis and its clothing are exported seperately.  V5 poses OK in Poser (although there's no IK);  it's the conforming clothes that don't yet work properly.  In Genesis, the joint centers and scaling are linked to some of the morphs; this results in a nice transition from, say,  an adult to child in Studio, but it causes difficulties in Poser because the figure's changing joint parameters aren't currently being automatically passed to the clothing.  In my fooling around I've been able to get Poser to transfer them manually, but it's not foolproof; it's likely to mess up shoes and skirts..

I'm hoping that this might be corrected with the next Poser Service Release, but nothing has been said officially....

EDIT:I should add that Genesis compatibiliy has became a contentious issue; it is difficult to have a civil discussion of even technical aspects without the thread diverging...

Thanks. We had that issues like that when I was around before. When PP6 came out and DS was just about too. If you talk about it both side flamed you, sad! So something have not changed, lol

Thanks again

The Poser library has been vastly improved, also. I do believe you will like Poser 9/ PP2012 a lot. I went from P 7 to P 8 to PP 2012 in a year and a half. Staggering change in a short time.
