Subject: Poper 4 friezes when a texture file is missing

I must be missing a file. My Poser 4 with Updater  (no excuses, it's the best) now friezes up when the following happens: I attempt to open a prop and am asked to locate a certain texture file but instead I click "Cancel." This would normally open the prop without the missing texture, but now -- seizure! What file am I missing? What would you do? Help will be enormously appreciated.

I've seen this and yes P4 is still pretty solid. If it works in P4 it'll work in anything is my approach! :) Solution is easy. Either wait until poser is ready. Or if you know the file is missing give poser one. Very simply, just copy any other texture file and give it the EXACT same filename as the name of the missing one. Poser doesn't know what the contents of the file/mapping should be, instead it just loads the file with that name. To see what file is missing - simply load the PP2 file into notepad or wordpad and look for the texture references. Usually JPG. Then look in the texture folder to see if those files are there. Also double check the pathnames are correct, thats what can also cause this problem.

Pinky - you left the lens cap of your mind on again.

Thank you very much; I've copied out your advice. I can readily fake the missing file. Still, there must be a fault somewhere and I was wondering what it is.
