One of you, a member who knows who they are but I will not mention, sent this to me. I thought everyone else should see it and give it some thought.

I know it inspired me...

Wow!! I have heard my husband in frustration, at his computer, viewing other's work here on Renderosity (Poser 3D work), griping about he has no inspiration.....saying garbage like "I would have never thought of that scene......I just cant come up with images like that......I might as well quit.....I'm just not as good as the others........"

Yet he has been published 6 times in worldwide 3D artwork books......

This video SCREAMED at me as an echo throughout my house!!! lol

As for myself, I still feel like such a fledgeling in photography.  I have not gotten the confidence in my work yet so I could totally relate.  I'm actually redecorating my bathroom and had picked a few images I'm going to frame and hang in there.  A friend looked over my shoulder and asked what website was I shopping on, the pics were beautiful and she would like to maybe buy some too.......  I told her they were my work......

I had a similar experience. I took some downtown cityscape shots - typical places known to everyone here.  I did my own postwork and they looked ok. After putting one on my monitor as a screen saver at work, I had 2 lawyers in my office ask if I would be interested in haveing them made into lamanated, large prints for their private collection. And they were willing to fund me to have the other 2 shots treated the same way to display in our local gallery near the office.

Didn't take them up on it because I felt it was a fluke and my work was not constistant or high quality yet.

This little video made me think more about the offer...

The best statement though, I find, is in one of his (Derek Sivers) other videos on youtube, called 'Why you need to fail':

"If you're not failing, you're not trying hard enough."

Being an expert at failing, I can certify that that is probably true.

I can't imagine you failing, girsempa. You are a rather premiere photographer in my book. Maybe some aren't as great as others, but everything you do is great.

Oh yes, PK, I fail and fail, and fail, until I finally get something right. And then... it's time to try something different. And to fail, and fail again... well, you get it ;o)
