Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 26 1:43 pm)
You cannot cross conform clothing item between models, they are rigged differently and the clothing item literally will conform to that model only. You either import the tie object into Poser and rerig it for James, or import the tie object, reposition and use it as a prop. Saving it as a smart prop will should do the trick, however you will lose any morphing capability for that item. Converting the object to a CR2 figure should also work, but again you will not have the original morphs. Another alternative, would be load the tie figure, position it, and parent it to James. You will retain the morphs this way.
Wardrobe Wizard is already built into Poser, except you do need licenses for Michael 3 and James to complete the conversion. Crossdresser is the same deal, the installer is free, but you need the necessary licenses for each character. If you are going to do many conversions, it will be worthwhile the investment.
Using Wardrobe Wizard or Crossdresser, can give you a permanent fix. Often, for a quick fix with things like a tie or hair, you can just parent the the clothing item to the character, without conforming it. 'Figure > Set Figure Parent' then make the chest, or neck, the parent, depending on how the item is rigged. Of course you will often need to reshape the item with magnets or whatever.

I imported a tie from figure menu in poser. This is a tie for Michael 3 but i wanted to use it for James for poser 6 cause i couldn t find any and this in the prop menu for James wasn t what i wanted. The group editor didn t work and so i used the morphing tool to disfigure the part of the tie that wassn t good for James and left untouched the remaining part.Everything went fine till then however when i try to conform the tie to James just because it is a tie for Michael 3 and not for James it goes a little higher thatn the normal.Actually it moves up on James neck and it can t move down (cause it is conformed on this figure)Have you got any ideas on how i sould make this work?
Thanks
