Subject: Making A Robots Eyes Glow

I am working on a space cartoon scene in Poser and am using the Klank Robot figure.  I would like to make Klank's eyes and button on his torso emit light but I don't know how to go about it.  I was hoping I could turn those body parts into light emitting objects but I don't have a clue as to how to do it and Poser Manual isn't much help.

Well, you can plug them into the Ambient channel, for starters.  The rest of it - I know it's doable from there - is down to someone who uses IDL, which I can't.

select the item, go to the Material Room, ..in the top right corner of the material editor, make sure the 'object/ item & material is selected that u want to make glo....then click on the 'advanced' tab...find the 'specular' (or ambient as mentioned in earlier post)..press on the value (number box) & drag to the right, (or just type in a number)...u can start with 5 or 10,, u should see the item's mat get brighter in the mat preview, but do a testrender ..u can also change the color of either by clicking on their color boxes

don't know which version of Poser u have, but there's also GlowWorm & Shader Spider, both for Poser 7

Thanks for the information, I suppose it might also depend on how dark the rest of the scene is to determine how it would should up.  I'm not sure if my lights will be too high for the glow to be detected--I'll have to experiment I guess.
