I've read a few reviews and they are pretty enthusiastic and positive.  I do know the mininum power supply requirement is 550 watts.

I have the GTX 590 (not the 680)... and i love it.  It does have a few "issues" - none I can pinpoint right off-hand... other than it took a few tries before I found the "right" driver version that made Vue happy.

Could be some other things that occur on this system that MIGHT be video card related, but might NOT be... like my flash drivers "freezing" now and then (causing me to have to completely reboot...), and a few other lil odds and ends - but nothing that I really freak out about anymore LOL.

Yes, you DO need a good sized power supply for these cards... 550 is MINIMUM - consider going higher... SERIOUSLY consider going higher power.  The card will suck that power supply like no tomorrow and beg for more - specially - and mostly - when Vue is rendering.  Take into cosideration what all will be drawing power from that supply... and plan accordingly. =D

Let us know if you go with the 680 and how it works for you! =D

Rarer than a hairy egg and madder than a box of frogs....

Paula, sorry I am late on this one!

I made a technical review of the 680 for an unnamed company, along with another couple of nVidia boards. My personal opinion that you might want to pass this one by and wait until August for the next iteration of this board. But Tom's Hardware Review is quite thorough and gives it a Gold Seal.

Hum

i was also considering it(680) for my soon (4-5 month) new computer

I will read  the reviews during the next months

May be i would consider the 580

I am using now the old ndidia 9600 with my graphics softs ,Vue included

But i am not a gamer

I just  want a  good video card for 4-5 next years

I am having the 680 put into my system which is being built for me now. We shall see.

Thanks everyone for replying.

martial - the new 680 architecture is a lot better then the older 580 ...

If you want to spare some bugs, you should look out for the new 670 ... cheaper, but close to 680 in performance ...
