There has been an unwrap program that can be used  to make paper models hanging around for sometime now..My Senior mind can't think of its name but I do know it starts with a "P".

Pap*, Pip*, Pep*..Can anybody help me out?

Is it perhaps Pepakura Design?  I used your description "paper models unwrap program" ina Yahoo search and this came up... www.tamasoft.co.jp/pepakura-en
