Subject: poser fish

Does anyoe know where  can find a good Poser fish...trout...bass....pike....preferably free?

I found the Royloo fish here in the freebies section but the link leads to a dead end.

Checked the store with similar dead end.

There was someone who used to do a lot of fish and fishing stuff but I don't remember the name.

Also hecked ShareCG....nothing came up.

jtrout IIRC.

JTrout is a dead website as far as I know. I hope someone can prove me wrong. Now, they aren't Poser specific, but Toucan has a whole lot of 3D fish and if your fish doesn't have to do too much, you might be able to get away with just a 3D model.

Thanks for the link. I will try a few to see how they look though it would have been better to have oe that was a bit more poseable. it s going to be held in front of a body in someones hands so the body morphs would have made it look more "Alive". But I will try and work with these.

I remember jTrout now. So, he left the community? Too bad his stuff was cool and different for Poser fare. Didn't he also create a mouse character?

Did Royloo leave the community too? I thought I saw some of his robots or whatever those SciFi figures are, recently?

Well, you could use magnets to bend parts of the fish. Instant living fishies! LOL

not being the sharpest nail in the bag, i never did figure out the magical use of magnets.  :(

LaurieA ( ) posted Fri, 04 May 2012 at 6:40 PM

Put a magnet on the fish and using the magnet base, move it more toward the tail. Make the sphere slightly larger than where you want it to bend, start moving the red magnet. The model follows :).

DAZ does have fish, but not for free.

I looked for a long time for a decent trout.  Even took photos of one and asked Poserworld to model one that would bend as if caught by a bear.  I ended up using the one that came with Ursus Arctos at Daz.

I thought that the wayback machine pulled up JTrout's site, unfortunateno no. For fish, you might try using the wave deformer to get some flippety floppity action.

Attached Link: Fishes for free

Try this link. OK, only 3ds format but easy to import into Poser and all are textured.

Goes to show the overabbundance of our times.

I purchased that darn bear and it is nicely snuggled in a download folder with hundreds of other purchased DAZ items from this past year or so but along with everything else I forgot about it.

Thanks for the kick in the head-like reminder.   :)

Hi

Unfortunately my brain is flippity floppity and I never learmed how to use these deformers or magnets or cloth room and hair room or joint parm adjustments or......

Just basic stuff I have managed to get together to get my renders and I am amazed I even learned that.

Thanks.

I picked up a few of those yesterday and will be trying them but as I mentioned above they don't pose and I might need them to do so for this render idea.

The last I saw of Royloo's items was on the PoserPros site.  A quick search now only seems to find pirated copies, which is a shame.  I hope someone has some better news.

I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 -  Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB  storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU .   The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.

No, Royloo had quite a lot of stuff on Content Paradise. He made some beautiful stuff for Miki 2, which I promptly bought ;). Last product that I can see was uploaded Jun 2009. Shame. I liked his stuff :)

I think the fish on Planit3D ARE Toucans fish ;)

shante ( ) posted Sat, 05 May 2012 at 10:49 PM

Maybe but none of them are posable.

Just installed Ursus Arctus and tomorrow I will try the fish that comes with tht as well as a few of those I got from Toucan site. Even though they are not poseable they are worth trying out. othing to lose and much to gain.

But thanks everyone for the help.

PeaceOut!   :)
