Subject: Question for Experts: New DAZ product works in P7 not PP2012

I'm trying a new product from DAZ called Beautiful Bends. It attempts to fix some of the bending issues with V4 (I know there are other fixes out there like V4 WM, but I wanted to try all the different solutions to see how they compare). Anyway, this products injects a number of magnets into V4 but has a strange problem. Once injected, the resulting V4 will not accept material changes for its skin. I get a screen full of error messages saying " can't find texture" and "you're out of memory" etc (see below). This is strange as the resulting file is 1/10 of the size that I usually work with in Poser and I can use this same material change on other V4's without issue. I've also tried simple texture changes by injection thru poses and pz2's but get the same errors. I'm working in PP2012 on a PC when I get these error messages, but if I go back to Poser 7, I don't get any error messages at all. Everything is fine, however; when I save that file, then try to to open it in PP2012, I get the same error messages.

I wrote DAZ but they offered no help. The vendor says he was able to duplicate the error in Poser Debut, so it seems to be some difference between older versions of Poser and any new version released in in the last year or so. Does anyone know of a difference between the versions of Poser that would trigger such errors?

Thanks

If the error is occurring in Poser Debut, then it may not work in Poser 8 version and up including the pro series.  Poser Debut is an offshoot of P8.

I would have thought that too, but the vendor said he got it to work in Poser 8 but did not have PP2012 or P9 to try it in. As I mentioned I know it won't work in PP2012 and Debut. I don't really know what could have changed between the versions to cause this.

So:

Poser 7 : works

Poser 8: works

Debut: Error

PP2012: Error

Poser 9: unknown

Thanks

Try saving the figure and/or scene, close Poser. Now restart and reload.

I had that thought too but still the same error when I open the file after restarting PP2012.

In General Prefs what do you have set for Library > File Search?

If not "Deep" try setting it to that, then restart and reload.

Yes, a good thought, but I have "deep" set in the preferences.

You're not saving into PMD's I assume.

Do you mean using External Binary Morphs targets? No, I am not saving the files that way.

if you are running a 32 bit Poser what memory does the system (windows task Manager) show once you load the product ?

Yes it's the 32 bit version. I have 2 Gb of RAM and I'm using it and some virtual memory on the HD, if I'm reading it correctly. I only have V4 loaded. Nothing else, and no morphs on her either. Although that's high, I've been to that point before with PP2012 and the large file size of my other models.
