Vue F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 30 6:52 am)
Thanks all. :) I managed to fix it, somewhat, and made a new light fixture. Lots and lots of people have those "Hollywood" lights, but I never have really liked them much. I also added a medicine cabinet, a light switch, and an electrical outlet. None of the stuff is really what you would call high quality, but 's OK... The mistakes, were like that I had accidenatlly deletd a few things, such as the faucet handles and the borders around the lower doors, but the new file will have all that. I'll put it in the Vue Free Stuff as soon as I have a render of it finished, and I also need to name the parts better. I wish I could upload it as a .VOB, with materials, but as a .VOB model, it's 9 MB....... So the best I can do is to assign some colors to the parts, which will be saved in the .3DS file. Sharen, thank you too, of course... I already am planning on making some furniture for your Haunted House, since I have this scene planned, though it's going to take a good while before I can call it finished. Chairs and tables and whatnot covered with sheets..broken stuff, etc., and you'll be the first to see all of it. :)

Well, I spent like all day working on this...had to learn some new Rhino junk too, just to *almost* get it. Extremely annoying, but kinda funny: I was building this thing, and somehow apparently I accidenatlly copied and pasted a complete copy of it right on top of itself, since that's what Rhino does. Well, I never even noticed it, until I went to import it into Vue, and I'm thinking, "Wait a minute! This thing's not supposed to be 4 MB!".... So only then do I notice, and I try to delete all the excess, right? Well, I end up deleting more that just the excess, but fail to notice THAT too, due to the shadows, and I just slap some materials all the parts, and hit render in Final, and then I go to the store, and come back, and this is what I got. :/ So I open up the Rhino file again, and I see that apparently I made some mistakes in the original, and I have to redo like half of it. The good thing is that it's coming along better this time around, and soon will be complete. I had intended for this pic to go into the gallery, but there are too many mistakes and parts missing, and for the life of me I can't figure out why the backsplash is rendering so dark... I made all this in Rhino, except for the vase and the plant, which is from Vue 4. The walls are Laurie's Country Tile material, the wood is also Laurie's, and the counter top, backsplash and floor are all one of Varian's marble materials. I'm planning on uploading this model to the Free Stuff as a .3DS file, when it's done, in case anyone's interested, and the Read Me will also have my email address, in case anyone would happen to want it in a different file format. I'd go ahead and upload the Vue .VOB of it, but that would simply be too large of a file..... I'm just bored today. ;) I did however learn alot more about indoor lighting with this though, so it wasn't a total loss....
