Subject: UI Dots - Poser2012

TomMusic ( ) posted Sun, 27 May 2012 at 11:41 AM · edited Thu, 28 November 2024 at 6:39 AM

I like the UI Dots for remembering Camera positions. They work great. While working on a recent composition all of a sudden I found myself in Animation mode and at frame 15. Don't know how I started the Anim but now I just want to go back to working in a single frame (No Animation). My UI Dots are taking me to previous Anim frames and if I clear them with the ALT button and try to create new camera positions the DOTS just go back to their previous memory. In other words, I can't clear the DOTS. I can continue working on my composition but I can no longer save any new Camera Angles. Any tips will be appreciated. -TOM-

Open the animation palette (the panel with all the little the green keyframe squares).  Find the camera in question.  Collapse its tiny triangle icon so that the camera has only one row of keyframes.  find a frame in your animation in which the camera is as you want it.  If that frame is not keyed, then add it as a keyframe.  Now ALT-click on that key and hold, then drag it left to drop it on frame 001.

You can now box-select all the other keys for that camera and use "-" on the animation palette to delete them.  Now, untick the animating box for the camera.

Clarification:  Are you clicking UI dots or camera dots?  The dot panel has a triangle button which opens a drop-down menu for UI, pose, and camera functions for the dots.

Thanks "seachnasaigh"

Although I do want to learn animation I know very little about keyframes and navigating through an animation. Your suggestion worked. I did lose a few elements of my scene but I can easily redo them. I saved everything so hopefully I'm back to square one now. -TOM-

Glad you have it solved. ^^     Actually, after re-reading your post, I thought that I had missed the point.  Dr Geep addressed the precise question.  But, that's the strength of the forum;  we "pool our ignorance" baffled  and with each person chipping in according their areas of strength, groupthink and from their different perspective,  we usually come up an answer.  idea!     Sometimes, it's even the right answer! wry
