I'm trying to create underwater blood in Bryce 5 for a friend, but its not working out so well... Here is what I did: Took the underwater scene made by the person whose link is credited to, then made a sphere and put a volume smoke texture on it, I then played around w/ the different options to get the red color (still needs a little more color, but this was just a test)...Then I rendered it, and got what you see in the picture...It tried to make a transparency around the outside of the "blood smoke" but it didnt work out too well... So, what is a better way to make underwater blood? Thanks

It reminds me of squid ink. You could say there was a squid hiding behind the rock and shot some ink. But about the blood, I had asked about making realistic blood in water in bryce awhile ago and Vile has a pretty good method (b/c I think his looks pretty realistic). Hold on, let me fish out my old post... Ah, here it is: http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=381488 Anyway, Vile was supposed to be making a tutorial and I'm still waiting for it. But looking at those pics, it may help you get a little idea of what you're going for. Hope you find what you need & I hope Vile makes his tutorial soon. ~JKS

Check out the opening of Saving Pvt. Ryan for reference. There's nothing to say that what you have isn't rep. of underwater blood. Everything in life isn't perfectly lit and defined. Not satisfied? Fair enough. Try lowering the base density, in order to create several masses of what would be multi-clouds of the more viscous blood finding its path through the colder less dense water. Because we all know blood is thicker than water. lol
