I tried fixing it in Photoshop using the smudge tool, but I thought someone would have a better way of doing it directly in Poser

AFAIK, no.  Unless you count V4 as a "fix" :)

In poser 9 you can smooth the bad bends with the morph tool also use limits on on the bends for the pose, thats what I did on the image
