Subject: voice acting for animations - filter s/w to make my voice sound masculine??

MistyLaraCarrara ( ) posted Mon, 04 June 2012 at 3:16 PM · edited Wed, 31 July 2024 at 7:37 PM

hiya,  i was wondering if someone could recommend a software package  (not too pricey) that could filter my voice to sound masculine?

either that or does anyone know how much Gary Sinease charges for voice acting?

so far all i have to work with is the Sony movie studio s/w.

i'm animating with poser, i really have no idea what to do for soundtrack music and sound effects.   😄  silent movies isn't what i have in mind.  tee hee

thanks!

I've been using voice changer diamond by avsoft.com you can find it audio4fun.com I've only used a small portion I need to read the manual but your supposed to sound like anyone with it. I've been trying to get a decent  young boy adn girl voice out of it.  it also has program you can use your telephone or chat adn sound like different people too haven't tried that yet either. I have used it on my utube channel RadarFoxbat to get around some of the music filters so they wouldn't be blocked. I had jimmy dean adn Frank Senatra both tweeked sound the same but it's different enough for the filters to accept it.

I'm not sure but I think wavedit will do that, but it's been a while since I used it, here's a link:

that Voice Changer software seems promising.

I'm hoping the Basic version will let me save presets.  Once I find a kewl voice for a character, I'll need to be consistant every time I record lines for that character.

yea I'm sure I had the basic long time ago  the main thing is saving them. I usually mark down the numbers just in case pitch timber just in case but you want to keep your paradies they take a while to make and sound right. I think the big difference in the pro is all the ready made voices that you can download from the site.

I'm looking at what I've been using, but none of them are cheap.  FL Studio can be cheap if you buy a module at a time.

I'd like to know the names of the more expensive one I'd like to try them if they can give me a good quality voice imitation of a young child girl and boy and other characters. I'll try them all out to see if any work. I've been working up a letter to the public schools drama departments for voice actors still early have a long ways to go to produce the movie yet. figured might be easier to find some talented kids like to be a cartoon character.

My Creative Labs webcam came with 15 different voices my mic sessions could record in.  The camera was around $40-$50 four years ago?  But they are the typical robot voice, husky voice, haunted voice, scared voice, whipser voice, kid voice, old man voice, etc.  Don't think they would work for a film narration.

Have you tried audacity, its free its works pretty easy and does wav and MP3 formatts and the best thing it is free

It has a few effects along with pitch changing and eacho and stuff.

I hope that helps

Cool.  I never knew it was free.  I thought it was commercial all this time.
