I'm not aware of any way to do that directly, but I can think of a few ways to possibly fake it, that might or might not work depending on your requirements:
Place the object offscreen.
Place the object inside or behind another object.
Render your scene, then delete the object, then plop render just the area where the object used to be.

I think if you go to the atributes..[A] you might be able to make the object invisible and still get the shadow.... don't have Bryce installed right now so I can not experiment...
Have you played and tried different things..?

No, there is no true way to do this. Been wanting Bryce to have this ability for years.

Actually this was a bug that was fixed during testing if I remember right, hidden objects still cast shadows, I agree though that this should be an option, this runs hand in hand with using reflection maps on only selected objects like Maya does, for say like just the windsheild of a car etc. Buuuut, when it was considered a bug it did work with hidden objects..story of our life right?

Can an object be set so that it will cast shadows, without itself being visible?
