here's what i do... (basically) paintbrush, dark colour, change mode to disolve and about 50% opacity. go over areas with it on a separate layer. call this hair layer 1 this will put lots of dots all over the place cos of the disolve mode. duplicate layer. on hair layer 1, apply motion blur only about 3pixels on direction like 85... on duplicate layer apply motion blur also 3 pixels in a different direction to above, maybe 5 degrees different. merge layers, make it multiply mode. this is a starting point ... there are other stuff you can add and ways you change the directions to make it look realistic.

Could anyone please give me some pointers on creating body hair for my male poser figures. I've seen textures with body hair, but I my attempts to create a body hair texture in Photoshop have turned out poorly.
