Subject: Photography Forum Challenge - July 2012 - "TEXTURES"

auntietk ( ) posted Tue, 03 July 2012 at 11:56 PM

Oh gosh, Jacomina!  My brain must have fallen out of my head!  Of course I remember the conversation we had about you joining us, and I even have clean bedding all set to go for when you drop by!  You're still more than welcome.  I'll probably forget again, because apparently when I retired I stopped thinking!  You might have to remind me again.  And again.  LOL!

MY Goodness, friends.

No ebots from the first day, but I kept the flag on Carins Intro to the new challenge, which is just awesome. Thank you Carin. And what do I see. A big bunch of fabulous textures. What a delight to see. And here I thought nobody had started, since I got no ebots. How wrong I was, YAY !!

Have a great texture time :)))))))

Amazing work Helle.

God Bless.

helanker ( ) posted Wed, 04 July 2012 at 4:32 AM

Thanks alot, Christo :D

dochtersions ( ) posted Wed, 04 July 2012 at 4:41 AM

Hi Helle, you've spilled a lot with white paint. An excellent result of an (I think) acrylic wave, which makes outstanding textures here.
p.s. don't worry, it's just the first week ;-)

@ Tara :Seems very nice to me, if your thoughts are retiring also; so nice and quiet in your head then!
But, my friend....are you sure it's not Alzheimer's ? :D

Well not Acrylic. The foam is made with gouache and the rest is just watercolor :D. :)

Meisiekind ( ) posted Wed, 04 July 2012 at 9:21 AM

Helle it feels like I'm getting the foam splashes from your amazing painting in my face! Excellent work!

Thank you so much Carin :-D

BTW.. do you remember the texture I found on the greenhouse. In the forum I asked you, if you recognize it from somewhere else of my uploads? :) Maybe you havent had time to see that, but I used the texture on your BD- card :)

Meisiekind ( ) posted Wed, 04 July 2012 at 9:40 AM

Oh - I did see it Helle!!! I was wondering where I have seen it before and now that you mention it, the penny dropped! Yay!!!!

A great combination, plus result, dear Helle!

I've added a comment on your Flickr, and there it looks amazing neautiful.
So everyone has to go to that link :D

helanker ( ) posted Wed, 04 July 2012 at 10:47 AM

Thank you dear Jacomina :-) I am practizing for at big acrylic with waves :)  It was my first attempt with waves, so I was quite excited about it :)

dochtersions ( ) posted Wed, 04 July 2012 at 12:11 PM

Quote - so I was quite excited about it :)

And so am I.
A lot of success by the acrylic waves, my friend!

LOL, I saw I made a writing mistake : it has to be 'beautiful' of course (not 'neautiful', don't know if this word probably means anything, I hope nothing wrong :D))

auntietk ( ) posted Wed, 04 July 2012 at 1:23 PM

@ Jacomina:  LOL!  Alzheimer's might be relaxing!  My brain tends to be a very busy place.  It's a shame I haven't figured out how to organize it yet.  I'd love to run my brain like a menu tree, moving and deleting and copy/pasting information to a place where it makes more sense.  I have lyrics to terrible songs from the 50s in my head that I can't get rid of, and I think that's taking up the space I need in order to remember our conversation about camping!  :P

I also really love the texture of helanker, even if the original painting is more exciting.

The acrylic waves work very well. Brava.

Adobe_One_Kenobi ( ) posted Fri, 06 July 2012 at 8:04 PM

Thanks Tara, I went to the local park today to put it through it's paces a little better, but the forecast was EVER incorect, and after a mere 20 minutes, it pelted down with rain, so I was there under a big tree putting all my gear back in the bag :{

I did get some shots, but nothing like I had planned.

kgb224 ( ) posted Fri, 06 July 2012 at 11:11 PM

Outstanding work for the challenge Helle,Tara and Ronnie.

Ronnie it seems that when you have your camera with you the rain comes along.

I am very frustrated for you my friend.

Go well each and everyone.

Blessed day and weekend.

God Bless.

Meisiekind ( ) posted Sat, 07 July 2012 at 2:28 AM

Christo.  Yes it does seem that way my friend, I suppose when I grieve his loving heart, this is how he punishes me hehehe!!

Carin.  Yoau are welcome to the image, I will see what else I can come up with, if I am to be stuck in doors then there are textures all around me heheh!

Helle. That rust study is absolutely gorgeous!

helanker ( ) posted Sat, 07 July 2012 at 10:36 AM

Thank you Tara and I Love your "fig leaf" lol.  Does it mean, that.... um.. never mind

helanker ( ) posted Sat, 07 July 2012 at 10:38 AM

Ronnie, awesome tobacco texture. I can almost smell it.  Loved the scent of it when my father blended his pipe tobacco. :)

helanker ( ) posted Sat, 07 July 2012 at 10:43 AM

OH, And Ronnie. You will need a HAT with an umbrella on. Then I am sure it wont bother raining anymore, because mother nature wont find it amusing, when you use umbrella.

Adobe_One_Kenobi ( ) posted Sat, 07 July 2012 at 11:21 AM

LOL! I have seen those brolly hats, they are amusing, and I have the right sense of humour to wear one too :}
