I installed Madelyn hair the pose file contained, poser hr2 and an rsr file only, I installed in Poser Pro 2012 and no images are in the pose folder when opended.

What can I do to fix this please.

Poser Pro 2012 cannot read RSR file.  I use RSRconverter, an external app, to change RSR to PNG, then I can see the thumbnails in Poser.

An HR2 file is a hair file not a pose file. It may be dependent on other files, such as geometry OBJ files, for it to be able to load. HR2 files generally should be in the hair library not the pose library.

Is there anything more that you can tell us about the issue?

Hi PhilC

The files I am talking about are for the pose library they are pz2 plus rsr files so I converted the rsr files to png image files and I cannot get them to work.

I simply manually installed the pose files from the zip and found rsr files did not create an image file I could see to use,

So now i am stuck with how to get these pose files to work?

thanks Rowlando

Are we referring to Mylochka's Madelyn Hair found at Sharecg?  I d'led that file and everything appears to be in order.  There are png files along with the rsr's so there was no need to convert the image files.  And the pz2 contain the right paths to the texture files.  Did you install everything from the zip?

Edit:  There is also Madelyn Hair over at DAZ.  I believe I have this one installed, need to check.

The DAZ hair is spelled as Madelyne.

If you're trying to add a colour to a hr2 hair file via a MAT pose on its own, you can't.  It won't work unless the hair is parented to a figure.  Your options would be to either:

Parent the hair to a figure, or

Add the materials manually, via the Material Room, or

See if there's a MAT pose available in the Material Room and if not, create one of your own.

Props - which includes hr2 hairs - cannot accept a MAT pose unless they're parented.

Thanks SamTherapy

That answers what  i need, your correct, I was trying to change the hr2 color without being parented to V4, the reason I was doing this is because I thought it was OK.

I have learned something new again.
