Subject: Trying to find an object...

Hi, This is probably a bit of a long shot, but does anyone know where you can download a train object. The train supplied with Vue is not really what I am looking for, I've tried this site and many others, but no luck. Your help would be much appreciated. Thanks

HI, If you're looking specifically for a .vob, I couldn't think of any. Compared to standard 3D file formats, .vob, is pretty rare, and you'd have much better luck searching for a train in .3Ds, .obj, .lwo, etc. I really can't remember seeing any train models, now that you mention it. You might just want to try to run a search for 3D Train Models or something similar. I think I might have seen one at either 3D Cafe or at Lannie's 3D Model World, but I wouldn't swear to it.

Thanks Mike, 3DCafe had plenty of trains/vehicles etc in various formats. Thanks for the info. William

Check out 3dCafe. I think I saw some trains there.

There are some really nice one's located at: http://www.iw43d.com/IW_Train_Img00.htm but I have to warn you, they are NOT FREE, nor would I consider them to be cheap, but since you didn't state if they had to be "freebies" or not, I thought I send this, just in case. genny

The only site I know of with this "type" of model are models of trolleys, not trains. I may be of some use to someone though, so here it is. Sorry I couldn't be more help. You might also try TurboSquid too if you don't mind paying for a model. I "think" Despona makes one? Varian? Laurie

deEspona has about twenty train models, from steam engines to modernday types. They don't sell 'em individually, though, and the collection isn't cheap (although it works out to being very inexpensive per model). Doesn't TurboSquid have some of the deEspona models available? Dunno if the trains are included, though.

p.s. If you like trains, you might enjoy The Railroad Paint Shop, a site I tripped across earlier today. :)

Don't forget 3D cafe :) They have a few *free* models of trains (some old, some new... even toy ones).
