never really paid much attention to the "selling things online" aspect of poser until recently.. I've got a wedding to pay for so I'm starting to ask myself.. what can I do to earn a little extra cash.. and that leads me to the question.. what are people willing to pay for? for instance.. I created this jacket texture and transmap.. if I sold it in the store for like $3.00 would anybody buy it?

Looks pretty cool and I am sure someone would buy it ...

You might do well with a character package of this figure. CR2, skin texture and clothing textures combined. The minimum price for anything in the Renderosity MP is $5.00 FYIO. -Jeff

Shoot, I'd pay for your figure textures. They're the best. -nemo

i agree....i'd be willing to pay for the plethora of free skins tim has on his site!!! tim, you're sooooooo talented with character skins, why don't you put together some packages for sale....i'm SURE they would bring in plenty!!! your infamous p4 skin texture collection has already paved the way; we all know the quality of your work, so we could purchase without reservation! just my opinion, tam aka mizzthangg

The idea of selling a character package sounds pretty cool.. so do you guys think a unitard texture, sweater texture, p4 woman body texture, and some transmaps would be enough stuff to get people interested?

SPIRESMEDIA ( ) posted Thu, 06 September 2001 at 2:41 AM

best thangg to do would be cruise around the marketplace to see what other people are selling....i've been doing that to get an idea of what i should include in a package and ball-park pricing. hope this helps, even if i AM a newbie!! lol tam aka mizzthangg

I think your work is unique and very nicely done. I would buy it. Sharen

Tim, I think your name would guarantee people take a look at your products. Your P4 textures moved expectations to a new level. And look for something a bit different; people have complained about items not selling. You might try also offering a simple, low-priced product and comparing sales. As a new vendor, I've been very impressed with the vendor services and responsiveness of the staff. Is the wedding a child's or yours? Much happiness to all.

Tim, I would love to see you adapt some of your excellent P4Woman skin textures for Vicki. You would have a best seller there. I'd definitely buy those!!! And you'd probably be deified if you created some for Michael. Melanie

Hi Tim! I would think anything you put up for sale would do great, as your textures are super. I'm under the impression that Vickie stuff and Mike stuff will do better than Posette and Dork stuff, incidently. If your intrested in doing any textures for Supermodel Vickie's clothing drop me a email at burtonj@bucks.edu

I totally agree with melanie... I personally have been trying to figure out if I can convert some of your P4Fem textures over to Vicky, but I get frustrated too easily... so I would totally pay for Vicky textures of that quality.

Uthena ( ) posted Thu, 06 September 2001 at 5:33 PM

heck, i'd pay for it.

GrayMare ( ) posted Thu, 06 September 2001 at 6:24 PM

Tim--you could sell license to modify your free textures too. Sort of a "developer's kit" commercial license. That would be low-effort to get up and running. I'd like some skin or clothes textures for Poser Dork too. My wife and kids are starting to look funny at the predominantly female images I'm creating :) GrayMare

What, Ruth isn't going to be your supermodel?

SPIRESMEDIA ( ) posted Sat, 08 September 2001 at 1:03 AM

hey, that's a GREAT idea about the commercial use license for the p4 skin collection......that's a purchase i'm ready and more than willing to make! tam aka mizzthangg
