I saw DP on the Machine Head Tour at Lewisham Odeon in 74. Ritchy Blackmoore trashed a left-hand strat on stage. ;-((( Wondeful gig. I think I still have my ticket stubb somewhere.
One of my all time favourite bands and Lord will be sadly missed.

Isn't it weird how it's all over the news when someone dies from drug abuse, but when a great artist dies of cancer, nearly everyone has forgotten about it within 24 hours?
At least he gets remembered here :) DP was a good band!

I know there's a few old rock fans here so i just thought I'd inform you about this. Jon Lord formerly of Deep Purple lost his battle against cancer today at the age of 71.
