There are some awesome weapons available at the FoRender store... (see link above)Quote - There are some awesome weapons available at the FoRender store... (see link above)
i got the feeling they extracted them from GAMES.. so be 100% sure they and YOU have the right to use them.. be sure the seller created them items or gives you a 100% garanty its not illigal content in anyway.
better save then ..having to pay 1000's $ because they were ripped from copyrighted content..
im not saying that they ARE ripped/extracted from copyrighted content..
but the simularity between the items offered and the items found in Mw2 and black ops. etc etc is realy realy realy big ..
Hmmm, I've never played MW2 or Black Ops before, though I did notice that they have the SPAS 12 shotgun from Left 4 Dead 2, only better looking.
Not sure why I'd have to pay $1000's to anyone when I'd only be using content that I bought, but didn't actually create myself. But it's a fair point for you to make.
The exhiliration of obscenity, the obscenity of obviousness, the obviousness of power, the power of simulation... ravishing Hyperrealism... mind blowing!
I bought two of the swords on Tuesday this week. I really don't have an issue with weapons just because they look the same as ones from a game. Maybe that's where the inspiration comes from, but that's all there probably is to it. Can't say I recognise any of the sci-fi weapons or fantasy swords/bows/axes from anywhere. If anyone sees an image I use one of their weapons in and says it's their weapon, or amazingly similar to one they made, I'm just going to point them in FoRender's direction.
Besides, Forender have a copyright tab on all their products pages. Not saying that having a copyright tab removes any issues that may arise if they have ripped others work off, but it would be seriously out of line to rip someones work and then copyright it as your own.
I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt until proven wrong.

For me it's been more of a viability question. The one weapons pack I've done separately (Sickle Heavy Shields and Weapons) did quite badly compared to the armor set it goes with. The Sickle Whips did all right, but they were a massively difficult EasyPose project.
I'll be doing some ninja weapons before too long here, but that's mainly because Shadow Warrior is fuseling's baby, and what are ninjas without their shuriken? ;)

I can't help but notice that there aren't many high quality weapon packs around. Maybe my search-fu isn't as good as it could be, but I'm really struggling to find them.
The thing is, I know that there are vendors out there that are very capable weapon creators, but more often than not, the weapons are part of a character pack or environment set. Like many people these days, funds can be a bit tight, so it isn't practical for me to spend money on a character or set just so I can get my grubby little hands on a good looking sword or whatever.
I've noticed that Powerage has created a weapon pack that is a compilation of the weaponry from the other content he has made. It would be great if other vendors even appoached the idea from the same angle.
So bring them on: swords, whips, axes, warhammers, you name it. The more fantastical and shiny the better. I'm sure they'd sell. After all, you can't have a large enough armoury when it comes to rendering :)
Edit: Daz Studio compatible would be appreciated.
