Before buying Michelle from RDNA, I did some searching around and took at good look at BVH's website where he has a figure called Angela and also a male called Joshua. I had seen several free items (hair and clothing) for BVHAngela in Renderosity freestuff. So I thought well, since the figures are so inexpensive (under six dollars each), and they are low poly, I would give them a whirl. At least they already have some useful clothes that would not cost me anything extra.

I am delighted with both of them. Fewer polys than Posette and Dork, and a polygon distribution that should please even Vilters. As far as I can see, no useless polygons here. The girl is really quite pretty, and the guy is not too bad, though I'll try to make a face morph for him that looks a bit more masculine. I need to make dark skins and African faces for both of them anyway, but BVHAngela already has a "glutes big" morph that gives her the backside I need. And they both have a good smile. Excellent figures for busy scenes. They deserve to be used more and supported.

The female has a breasts droop morph for those who don't like perky breasts.

Here is a smooth shaded preview render.

They look very... stylized. Are there enough polys in the heads to give them human proportions?

BVH is working on a new character named Cynthia. You can see the current progress of the project on his website. (bvh3d.com)

I'd rather stay in my lane than lay in my stain!

Yes, stylized they certainly are, with that polycount it would be inevitable. The female has 2842 polys in the head. Posette's head has 3690. Here is a quick render of both of them smiling, with default textures.

Cynthia looks smashing.

Those are actually very nice smiles.

I thought the male's head was disproportionately small. But after checking, it turns out that the body is, in fact, 8 heads tall. Unusual outside of the very tallest people in the NBA, but standard for a lot of art.  I think it's just that the shoulders are so wide. But if he were clothed in a superhero skin, it wouldn't seem strange. :)

Cynthia really deserves a discussion of her own. The base figure will be free, and the full body morphs look absolutely gorgeous. I look forward to using her.

I haven't used them alot [maybe about 2-3 renders] but I did love them each time and the outfits are great. Mixing, matching, and combining gives lots of variety with so little actual clothing [compared to more mainstream figures]. I look forward to when he puts out new items. I haven't check the site recently so I am REALLY thrilled to hear he has a new figure coming! :D I can't wait!!!

Hello Nanette Here is where I am with "my" figures.

Time, I wish I had more time to continue on them.
His face needs a lot more work..
Well, sometime. . . .

+/- 8.000 Poly each

Well, 8.000 poly's each is a wrong number.
Actually, I let Poser work with 67.108.854 micro-poly's for each.

That's really impressive for so few polys.

I find myself going back to look at BVH's Cynthia again and again, as if I expect he might finish her at any minute. The progress from initial basic shapes to the evolved morphs is very interesting, and he has also worked amazingly quickly on her. It is quite a demonstration of what a talented individual can accomplish. She is just under 40000 polygons, so still far lower than many of the figures I use , although he describes her as high poly. I am like a kid in a candy store now.

:-) kid in a candy store huh :-)

If all goes to plan (it rarely does) I might continue on the male this week.

Yeah, I still have to morph in his "missing part".
But grrrr; very - extremely few poly's to do so....
We'll see.... :-)

Euh, the above figures have a single 8192x8192 texture. :-)))
