Subject: Market Place - Top - Perhaps Index Is Better?

paganeagle2001 ( ) posted Wed, 08 August 2012 at 3:11 PM · edited Mon, 23 December 2024 at 7:44 PM

Anyone else noticed that the store has changed and that there is a button called Top.

Hover your cursor over it and you get the list of sections for the store

So, perhaps this Top button could be changed to Index as that would make more sense.

Normally a button called Top takes you, well, to the top. At least with index, you have an idea of what it does.

Just my thoughts, others can agree, disagree or ignore as they please. Lol.

All the best.

Not "top," but I have noticed clicking a thumb pops up a mini window and not the full product page.  I posted a comment in the MP Customer Support forum.

Agree, it would make more sense than Top.

Agree, don't see the sense in having to do another click to see a full product page.

A single click only gives part of the description if it is quite long.

All the best.

Since not everyone uses Poser (can you believe that?), I cross linked this with my MP Customer Support thread so readers on either forum can just post and / or link to see.

(Sorry Mods if I broke a rule.)

If you list 'Whats New' clicking on the icon brings up a mini window but clicking on the text underneath takes you to the full product screen.  You cannot do this in the marketplace screen as there is no text, not a very consistant way of working.

I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 -  Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB  storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU .   The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.

By "text," do you mean the actual product name?  If so, it you are correct, but the names are there if you do a Market Place search.

Clicking the title of the product takes you to the product page as well as if you are in the quick view and click the thumb it takes you to the product page.

The "Marketplace" page that has a small sampling of what's new, featured, etc is just a sampling page, you can click the view all featured or view all what's new, etc to go to the ALL of those areas or if you do decide to click on a thumb on that sampling page, you can click the thumb from the quick view to get to the product page.

Sorry you had to answer this twice, but I have no idea if someone using the link to a thread in a different forum adds to the "viewed" count there and, this being new (to me, anyway) I though I would just cross it. :)

I think the Top means top ten, or like that...the top selling in those categories.

I think it would be more friendly if rather than having to click on the thumbnail, the popup would, well, pop up when you hovered the mouse pointer over the thumbnail.  That way, there is less clicks involved...or to say it more simply, it will be one click just like the other method.  It has to be an AJAX or jquery type of action anyway, so why not use the open on hover type interface?

I thought the same thing, but if you click the link in the name of the product, rather than the thumbnail, it takes you directly to the product page, just as before.

So it's still just one click, but you have to click text, instead of image.

This new way allows you to click the thumbnail and add to wishlist without having to load the product page, which is a considerable improvement in my mind.
