Posted this to galleries as well. Two photos, really simple and fast pic. -------cut-------- MTv scandinavia is crap, pure crap. Shows twisted rolemodels and wrong world view for kids. Superficial waste of time. Life is not big cars, dancing big busted women, tough guys and glittering gold. Greed bastards. -------cut-------- Hey, thats me there. .n

I could not agree with you more. And I used to be a rabid MTVer over here, years ago. The message is clear, your photo incorporated was always one of my favorites. I watched the Mtv music awards with my 13 year old last night. What a farce! Britney Spears is trying to grow up and starts singing about being a plush new kitty kat, comes out in a cage with a siberian tiger, and manhandled a boa, during a dance. I am telling you if she doesnt have the animal rights activist on her butt this morning, I'll be really surprised. Recently, the national and local news have been running segments dedicated to the effect these so called "teen" stars are having on children, as early as 5 and six years old. These girls are wanting to go to school dressed like Cristina Aguilera, they say that these teen stars are the ones to blame, but in my opinion, its the networks, and stations, and businesses. These young people in the star spotlight are nothing more than corporate slaves themselves, although they are blinded by money, fame, a charmed life. Its all about greed, pimping garbage sells garbage, and it seems to boil down to one thing, $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ you got it, money. Syyd

Ditto on both your comments. I dont let my 13 year old watch MTV either. For that matter, most of the channels on television these days! BTW, nice piece of work!

No Kidding Fred, I suppose we could put that in the pimping category. Reminds me of MacAuley Culkin. That kids parents made a mess of him, and I can never forget when he was a little boy, looking in his face, and thinking, there is this sensitivity there that is going to pressed into dollars. JonBenet Ramsey, all these child stars, have to have an adult thats behind it. And the sad part to me Fred is it again comes down to the $. Parents want it, so they sell their kids to the highest bidder.

I couldn't agree with you more, Syyd. Show me the money.

When the artists start condemming the media for gross public display and being money crazy, it bodes well for the return of sanity to everyday life. Too soon you get a "Clockwork Orange", and we get extremes in both directions.

Well, I can share with you how difficult it is to raise a 13 year old female. There was a time when she was 8 9 or ten, and we were carefree, and joyous of life. Now, I am finding that in order to get her to survive with some kind of good moral code, I really need to think hard, and sometimes act hard. One thing I find missing, grossly missing in a lot of kids her age, is respect. Respect to what she owns, how she treats others, how she respects her environment. By eliminating as much outside influence, its like dancing on the edge of a double blade. If I eliminate too far, I shelter too much, if I don't, she is exposed to a kind of ungodly blatant sexuality that is horrendously abusive to a young psyche. After hearing females on this award show be referred to as "bitches" constantly, and this expose of in your face teenage flesh, I think the decision should be a fairly easy one.

FYI, a review of the mtv awards show. MTV'S JUDY MCGRATH: WANTED FOR THE MURDER OF MUSIC One day we will wake up from this nightmare. Long after we rip out the infected pierced stud in our tongues and wash off all our tats and forget we ever witnessed three-and-a-half-hours of something called The Eighteenth Annual MTV Video Music Awards... we'll possibly be able to look at ourselves in the mirror again. President of the MTV Group Judy McGrath, 48, is wanted for the murder of music. "J LO, PLEASE LET ME SNIFF YOUR BUTT." "I'M ABOUT TO BE BORN AGAIN ON YOUR BASTARD ASSES." Thursday night in New York City, McGrath, who has been there from the beginning, unleashed her latest remix of pop culture at the Metropolitan Opera; still determined to call her product Music Television, although any music is a side order in the Taco Bell-sponsored shopper's guide. "THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO THOUGHT WE WOULD MAKE GOOD WHORES." "THIS PERFORMANCE HAS BEEN DEDICATED TO THE LOVING MEMORY OF AALIYAH." McGrath, a star in the VIACOMCBS family, knew she had hit the Zeitgeist with promos for the "Music Awards" which featured host Jamie Foxx simulating intercourse with a live sheep. You could almost hear McGrath applaud, cheer and order heavy rotation as Foxx gyrated his pelvis into the sheep. Her latest exploitation of Black Americans, and sheep. The usual corporate shills -- U2, Jennifer Lopez, Moby, Mick Jagger -- once again showed up to celebrate the McGrath vision: Someone played a guitar. Someone screamed into a microphone. Someone picked up a pair of drumsticks and waved them in the air. Someone wore a black leather jacket and thanked Joey Ramone who gave us Jessica Simpson who shot daggers at lip-syncing Britney who is still a virgin at least with humans but nevertheless qualified as McGrath's top carny. "OUR NEXT PRESENTER IS THE STAR OF MTV'S JACKASS, AND SOMEONE WHO WILL JACK YOUR ASS." Classic Judy McGrath. The woman who murdered music.

Does the x on the forehead symbolize some X comic? I'm confused. Who is the guy? Seriously. I haven't really watched MTV since I gave up cable about 5 years or so ago. As I understand it MTV does not show videos? WTH- What the Heck. Why is it on them. I must really be out of it. Did some one really say those things? The probelm with pop culture and phony images is that those performing those images realize that that is all they are. An image. It's all an act. I'm sure living in what ever kind of world they live in it makes perfect since to perform like that for thier coporate backing. After all it's not real; they know it; and that is how they perceive they have to stay on top. Unfortunately, it is not as apparent to the younger generation how unreal such public images are. Perhaps MTV should have a disclaimer every 15 minutes. Something which states that "The images presented are unreal and are just a manufacture of the artist's producers to sell records, music, and achieve wealth. Furthormore the ideas presented in many of the music, videos, shows, and spoken word are more than likely anti-social, useless, completely ill-redeeming, health damaging, and will probably get you fired in every job across the world." Yup. That's what MTV, and many networks need. On the other hand. Has any one read the latest X Man comic? And what do you think of the latest writer. Hint: Cyclops has performed a mercy killing, and Professor X shot a person to stop them from being distructive. Then he announced that he was a mutant on public TV. Nike picture buy the way Antoonio. But it is alittle dark. Hard to read the writing or see the Target logo! Bsteph

This will date me... I remember when MTV viewed for the first time... "Video Killed The Radio Star." I was 9 years old. That was the first ever video on MTV and I still remembering seeing it. It kinda scares me to think that it was such an important event in this world and our history. To be such a significant memory... I wish I could be... Who knows Mayby 20 years after I die... Oh Ya... I'm a photographer... that happens by default... WOW!!! Sari. tThat's all, and nothing else matters. 8^) Sorry, I go Nie, Nie now... -Gabe-

Bsteph, I haven't read X-Men in a loooong time. Last time I did was when a college batchmate started pencilling for Wolverine. What I have read recently is the Planetary series on WildStorm. Great art and storyline :-) (*

bsteph2069 ( ) posted Sun, 09 September 2001 at 10:00 PM

Wow. Wolverine usually has reasonable storylines and good art. Dating back to the Frank Miller days. Planetary is very good stuff. Especially since they seem to have begun putting out issues again. My X-men points is/are for the Authority readers. Currently the old writer for Authority is now writing for X-men. And a couple of the other X-books. I can tell it's going to be a wild ride. Actually I really don't read X-stuff. Too much. and too complicated. In general Marvel lost me when they started a "crossover" barage every 4 months or so. You might also want to check out Monarchy. The comic is starting to make sence. And Daredevil is pretty fun right now! BTW-What about rich children. How come no-one say that their parents are corrupting their childrens lives! Personally I think I need to help rich kids! Their lives are far too dependent on money! They can't enjoy the fullness of life when they can get all they want. So I will now make this official. "RICH KIDS. HELP ME HELP YOU! GIVE ME 1/2 OF YOUR MONEY. I'M NOT A GREEDY PERSON. I JUST WANT YOU TO EMBRACE LIFE THE WAY IT CAN BE EMBRACED!" There. Now I'm gonna sit at home and wait for meal tickets!!! Bsteph
